BrightCore has a client with an exciting opportunity for a Data / BI Analyst . The Client is seeking a highly motivated Data Analyst to build the company’s reporting and analytics capabilities from the ground up. This person will determine what should be measured, locate and prepare the necessary data, build reporting and dashboards, and help leadership interpret the results and improve how the business measures performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with leadership and department heads to define meaningful KPIs and performance measures.
- Identify and access relevant operational, customer, vendor, service, and financial data across company systems.
- Extract, clean, transform, and validate data for analysis and reporting.
- Build automated reports, scorecards, and executive dashboards.
- Analyze and interpret results to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and areas for operational or financial improvement.
- Recommend refinements to KPIs, reporting, data collection, and measurement based on findings.
- Investigate data inconsistencies and establish reliable metric definitions, calculations, and sources.
- Develop more automated methods for capturing diversion and recycling data and reporting results to customers.
- Document data sources, definitions, reporting logic, and processes to support a scalable analytics environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Business Intelligence, Computer Science, Statistics, Industrial Engineering, Information Systems, Finance, or a related quantitative field.
- Strong SQL skills and ability to work with relational databases.
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or similar business intelligence tools.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
- Understanding of data extraction, transformation, validation, analysis, and visualization.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability, including working through ambiguous business questions.
- Ability to communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
- Self-motivated, accountable, detail-oriented, and comfortable building solutions without established reporting processes.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Relevant internships, co-ops, academic projects, or 1–3 years of professional analytics experience may satisfy the experience requirement.
