Business Analyst

About the Opportunity

BLEACHTECH LLC, part of the ANSA McAL Group, is seeking a Business Analyst to help guide commercial and strategic decisions across our U.S. operations. Reporting to the Commercial Director, you’ll work directly with senior leadership on pricing, profitability, financial planning, and investment opportunities.

This role offers exposure to the full business, including commercial, operations, finance, and supply chain. You’ll take ownership of the financial models and analysis leadership uses to make decisions, with assignments ranging from customer profitability reviews to evaluating expansion projects and potential acquisitions. This is an individual contributor position with no direct reports.

What You’ll Do

Commercial and Pricing Analysis

• Analyze profitability by customer, product, and geography, including cost-to-serve, freight costs, and contribution margins.
• Evaluate pricing strategies, contract and spot pricing, price realization, and opportunities to improve margins.
• Track product performance across volume, price, mix, and profitability, and recommend actions to leadership.
• Assess how raw material and input cost changes affect customer pricing and business performance.
• Support bids, contract renewals, customer profitability reviews, and sales negotiations.
• Monitor competitors, market conditions, demand trends, and industry pricing.

Business Reporting and Process Improvement

• Develop KPI dashboards, monthly performance reports, and executive presentations.
• Extract, clean, and reconcile data from ERP, production, logistics, and sales systems.
• Build reusable Excel models and reporting tools, automating recurring work where practical.
• Present findings and recommendations to BLEACHTECH leadership and ANSA McAL Group management.
• Partner across departments on process improvements, supply chain analysis, working capital initiatives, and operational reviews.
• Work through complex business questions and deliver clear, evidence-based recommendations.

Financial Modeling and Planning

• Build and maintain integrated financial models covering the income statement, balance sheet, and cash flow statement.
• Lead preparation of the five-year strategic plan and Annual Operating Plan in partnership with leadership.
• Prepare rolling forecasts and explain differences between actual results and plans.
• Model scenarios involving raw material costs, sales volume, production utilization, freight, and capital spending.
• Support Group reporting requirements with accurate, consistent financial analysis.

Investment and Growth Analysis

• Evaluate capital projects, expansion opportunities, capacity improvements, and asset replacements.
• Prepare investment appraisals using net present value, internal rate of return, payback, and return-on-capital analysis.
• Support due diligence and financial modeling for potential acquisitions and strategic partnerships.
• Develop business cases that clearly explain recommendations, assumptions, and risks.
• Track project and transaction results against approved business cases.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, engineering, accounting, mathematics, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 2–7 years of professional experience following graduation in consulting, corporate development, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, FP&A, or a commercial, pricing, or strategy role.
• Demonstrated experience building dynamic three-statement financial models and valuation or investment appraisal models.
• Advanced Excel skills, including Power Query, PivotTables, lookup and array functions, and structured data models.
• Experience independently cleaning, reconciling, and analyzing large or incomplete datasets.
• Strong understanding of financial statements, margin and cost analysis, working capital, capital budgeting, and valuation.
• Strong PowerPoint, presentation, and data visualization skills.
• Ability to explain complex findings clearly, answer questions about your analysis, and make practical recommendations.
• Ability to build relationships across departments, manage several priorities, and work independently.
• Authorization to work in the United States and a valid passport for international travel.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with business intelligence and dashboard tools such as Power BI or Tableau.
• SQL, Python, VBA, or comparable skills for data extraction, analysis, or automation.
• Familiarity with ERP and reporting systems, including extracting data directly from source systems.

Preferred Background

• Experience with strategic planning, business case development, or transaction work.
• Experience in chemicals, manufacturing, industrial operations, energy, or commodities. Candidates from other industries are welcome.
• Progress toward a CFA, CPA/ACCA, or MBA.
