For our location in Richmond, VA we are looking for a

Software Project Manager

Your tasks

  • Lead software projects from opportunity identification through deployment and customer acceptance.
  • Develop solution estimates, project quotes, project scopes, and resource plans in collaboration with engineering and product teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between customers, stakeholders, and development teams.
  • Gather, document, prioritize, and manage business and technical requirements.
  • Own and maintain the product backlog, ensuring alignment with customer needs, project priorities, and business objectives.
  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams to ensure timely delivery of project milestones and commitments.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues when necessary.
  • Provide regular project status updates and manage customer communications throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Drive continuous improvement of project management practices, Agile delivery processes, and team effectiveness.
  • Support the growth and development of the software delivery organization by helping define best practices, standards, and operational processes.

Your profile

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ years of experience managing software development projects in an Agile environment.
  • Proven experience developing software solution estimates, quotations, and implementation plans.
  • Strong knowledge of Scrum, Agile methodologies, backlog management, and release planning.
  • Experience working directly with customers to define requirements, manage expectations, and deliver successful outcomes.
  • Excellent communication, organization, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with project management tools such as Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence, OpenProject, Microsoft Dynamics or similar platforms.
  • Ability to balance customer needs, business objectives, and technical constraints while driving project execution.
