About this role

Job Title

As the Director Product Management, Agentic Commerce you will define and drive the vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for products that enable Best Buy to compete in AI-powered discovery, recommendation, shopping, and commerce. This leader will translate customer needs and enterprise and AI strategies into business value.

Operating with minimal guidance, the Director will lead a complex product portfolio and develop Product Managers; set objectives, outcomes, and priorities using customer insights, business metrics, technical feasibility, and strategic value; and align Engineering, User Experience, Digital Commerce, Marketing, Data & Analytics, AI Transformation, Legal, Privacy, and external AI platforms.

The portfolio includes the structured data and API capabilities needed to position AI platforms as a discovery gateway for commerce.

This role is hybrid, which means you will be required to work on site Monday through Thursday at the Best Buy corporate office in Richfield, Minnesota. You can work virtually from home or another non Best Buy location on Friday. The recruiter or hiring manager will provide more details during the hiring process.

What you’ll do

  • Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Best Buy’s Agentic Commerce portfolio, shaping the company’s role in AI-powered shopping, discovery, recommendation, and transaction experiences.
  • Translate customer and business needs into measurable product outcomes, prioritizing investments, experiments, and teams based on customer value, business viability, technical feasibility, risk, and strategic impact.
  • Champion customer obsession and continuous discovery, using customer insights, research, data, and experimentation to identify needs, build trust, improve adoption, and strengthen experiences.
  • Lead product innovation and portfolio decision-making, guiding teams through test-and-learn cycles and determining when to build, buy, partner, pilot, scale, or stop.
  • Establish portfolio measurement and cross-functional execution, aligning Product, Engineering, UX, Commerce, Data & Analytics, Finance, Legal, Privacy, Security, and other partners around priorities, dependencies, success measures, and outcomes.
  • Lead and develop high-performing product teams, setting clear outcomes, empowering decision-making, strengthening product practices, and building future product leadership capability.

Basic qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • Six or more years of relevant Product Management experience, including experience in areas such as product development, user experience, product strategy, or related disciplines.
  • Five or more years of direct people-management and team-leadership experience.
  • Demonstrated experience defining and driving the vision, strategy, and roadmap for a highly complex product line or portfolio.
  • Demonstrated ability to use customer, product, and business data to make prioritization and investment decisions.
  • Experience leading multiple product teams and building alignment across a matrixed organization.
  • Experience translating ambiguous customer and business problems into clear product outcomes.

Preferred qualifications

  • Ten or more years of directly related product management experience.
  • Six or more years of people-management and team-leadership experience.
  • Experience leading customer-facing digital commerce, marketplace, search, recommendation, personalization, or platform products.
  • Experience with AI-enabled products, agentic systems, conversational experiences, machine learning, or generative AI.
  • Experience developing products that rely on APIs, structured product data, external platforms, or complex technology ecosystems.
  • Experience working with large technology platforms, strategic partners, or emerging technology providers.
  • Experience with retail, consumer technology, digital marketplaces, or other fast-paced consumer product environments.
  • Understanding of responsible AI, customer trust, data privacy, platform governance, and technology risk considerations.
