About the Opportunity

Fresh Coast Extracts, formerly 42 Degrees Processing, is looking for a creative, detail-oriented Graphic Designer to help bring our brands to life through packaging, original artwork and marketing materials.

This position will start part-time, approximately 10–15 hours per week, with an initial focus on packaging updates and rebranding projects for our Fresh Coast and Splash product lines. As our needs evolve, there is an opportunity to expand into additional hours and broader marketing responsibilities based on performance, interests and business needs.

We’re looking for someone who can take a creative concept, develop thoughtful designs and turn them into finished assets ready for production.

What You’ll Do

• Create original illustrations and graphics for cannabis product packaging, including cartridges and all-in-one vape products.
• Support rebranding and packaging updates for our Fresh Coast and Splash brands.
• Develop distinct artwork for Sativa, Indica and Hybrid product categories while maintaining a consistent look within each brand.
• Build reusable design systems that work across multiple product varieties, packaging sizes and formats.
• Prepare production-ready files using printer and manufacturer specifications, including dielines, bleeds, color requirements and file formats.
• Adapt logos and brand elements for use on product hardware, including engraving and printed applications.
• Collaborate with our team to understand project goals, inventory transitions, production timelines and launch priorities.
• Incorporate feedback, proof artwork carefully and manage revisions through final approval.
• Maintain organized design files, templates and brand assets.
• As the role grows, support social media graphics, retail displays, sales materials, promotional campaigns and other marketing initiatives.

What We’re Looking For

• A portfolio demonstrating strong graphic design skills, with packaging, illustration or consumer brand work preferred.
• Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop; experience with InDesign or comparable tools is a plus.
• The ability to create original artwork beyond modifying templates or generating AI images.
• Strong attention to typography, layout, color, brand consistency and production details.
• The ability to work independently, communicate progress and meet agreed deadlines within a part-time schedule.
• Comfort receiving feedback and collaborating with others to refine designs.
• An interest in growing into broader marketing work over time.

Experience with packaging production, print vendors or consumer packaged goods is especially helpful. Cannabis industry experience is a plus, but is not required. We’re most interested in the quality of your work and your ability to execute.

Our Approach to Creative Work

Original, designer-created artwork is preferred for our Fresh Coast brand. We are open to thoughtfully using AI-assisted tools for select projects when approved, particularly for Splash. Regardless of the tools used, this role requires strong design judgment and the ability to deliver polished, consistent artwork suitable for commercial production.

Compensation and Schedule

• Pay: $20–$25 per hour, depending on experience and portfolio.
• Hours: Approximately 10–15 hours per week to start.
• Location: Traverse City, Michigan.
• Growth: Potential for additional hours and expanded marketing responsibilities as the business and role develop.
