Supervisor, Power Generation - Memphis

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Supervisor on the power generation team, you will lead the technicians who operate, maintain, and repair on-site generation that powers SpaceXAI’s high-density AI supercomputing facilities.

You will oversee plant technicians, process technicians, and electrical technicians as one operations and maintenance team — covering gas turbine packages, balance-of-plant, process/fluid systems, and plant electrical systems through 34. 5 kV.

You will operate with autonomy to solve diverse and complex problems, manage multiple workstreams at once, and work in a dynamic, fast-paced plant environment. This role directly impacts reliability, safety, and uptime at the Southaven and Memphis sites.

You will keep generation online, keep maintenance disciplined and cost-effective, and build a technician team that can respond to trips, outages, and commissioning without losing the day-to-day plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead a team of plant technicians, process technicians, and electrical technicians responsible for inspections, testing, operations, maintenance, and repair of power generation systems, including gas turbines and generators, balance-of-plant, fuel gas and process/fluid systems, water and compressed/instrument air, HVAC and cooling, and plant electrical systems up to 13.5 kV / 34.5 kV
• Schedule daily work, prioritize assignments, and balance planned maintenance against real-time plant needs, alarms, trips, and outages
• Direct switching, isolation, LOTO, start-up, shutdown, and restoration activities so electrical, mechanical, and process work is coordinated and safe
• Own work execution quality: procedures, work orders, as-found/as-left records, and close-out in the CMMS
• Know and enforce SpaceXAI safety procedures, including LOTO, NFPA 70E / arc-flash, confined space, and hot work; stop work when conditions are unsafe and escalate uncorrected hazards
• Support plant start-ups, shutdowns, commissioning, and outages alongside engineering, operations, and contractors
• Coordinate with engineering, operators, and utility personnel on clearances, switching, and work that affects generation
• Oversee vendors and contractors supporting the plant; keep work competitive, safe, and on schedule, and coordinate with buyers and accounts payable as needed
• Communicate with the Manager on daily activities, plant status, team performance, and issues requiring escalation
• Drive overall technician performance and effectiveness through coaching, development, and clear standards

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalency certificate
• 3+ years of hands on experience working in a power plant, generating station, or other high-reliability industrial facility

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a technical, construction, or engineering field, or equivalent experience
• Hands-on background in one or more of: gas turbine / plant operations, process or fluid systems (fuel gas, water, compressed air), or medium-voltage electrical operations and maintenance
• Experience leading a mixed-discipline operations and maintenance team (mechanical, process, and electrical)
• Ability to read P&IDs, single-line diagrams, electrical schematics, and equipment O&M manual
• Experience with LOTO, switching procedures, and NFPA 70E / arc-flash practices
• Experience using a CMMS or work-order system to plan, schedule, and close maintenance work
• Proficiency in Microsoft applications such as Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint
• Experience managing budgets, third-party vendors, and contractor work
• High attention to detail, documentation, and plant housekeeping standards
• Ability to work independently with little direction and to meet deadlines in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment
• Ability to anticipate plant needs and develop practical solutions for reliability and continuous improvement

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Willingness to perform hands-on work in all environments (heat, cold, rain), in tight quarters or at heights
• Ability to work extended hours, nights, weekends, and on-call schedules to support plant operations
• Remain focused while working in hazardous environments, while wearing appropriate PPE
• Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs unassisted
• Lifting, standing, climbing, bending, grasping, sitting, pulling, pushing, stooping, stretching, and carrying are generally required to perform the functions of this position
• Must be able to work on-site at the power generation facility, with potential travel to other SpaceXAI sites
• Valid driver’s license
