Build something people love
Wealthsimple is Canada’s leading financial innovator. The company offers a full suite of simple, sophisticated financial products across managed investing, do-it-yourself trading, cryptocurrency, tax filing, spending and saving. Wealthsimple currently serves more than 4 million Canadians and holds over $155 billion in assets under administration.
The company was founded in 2014 by a team of financial experts and technology entrepreneurs, and is headquartered in Toronto, Canada.
We're proud of what we've built — and we're just getting started. Read our Culture Manual and learn more about how we work .
What you’ll do
- Engage with internally sourced leads from the Growth Marketing team and prospect sales-sourced leads via phone, email, and SMS
- Assess whether a client's need can be self-served through Wealthsimple's existing product experience, or whether human sales support will genuinely drive incremental business, and focus your time accordingly
- Be the first point of contact to promote the Wealthsimple value proposition, leading with value before introducing any offer or incentive
- Sell through a "needs based approach" by uncovering client needs, and then demonstrating value by positioning our products and services as the solution
- Run structured discovery on every conversation to understand a client's full financial picture — including assets held away at other institutions (self directed investing, wealth management, and banking) — to identify consolidation and wallet-share potential
- Identify and capture cross-sell opportunities for other areas of the business through daily client interactions
- Take ownership to build and manage your own pipeline, in addition to internally assigned leads — by cultivating client referrals and nurturing dormant opportunities
- Maintain awareness of which products reflect a higher business priority (e.g., margin accounts, active trading, cash balances) versus passive registered products, and calibrate efforts accordingly
- Nurture and qualify prospective clients through the sales cycle, nurturing and managing the entire deal through completion
- Achieve monthly Net Deposit quotas and daily KPIs across outbound touches (calls, email, SMS)
Skills you'll bring
- Consultative discovery skills — comfortable asking probing questions to surface held-away assets and unconsolidated wallet share, not just running a scripted or purely transactional pitch, and have natural sales instincts
- Natural curiosity — genuinely eager to understand a client's full financial picture and uncover the root of their need, not just the surface ask
- Strong communication — comfortable writing persuasively and communicating at all levels
- AI-forward productivity — comfortable using AI tools to work more efficiently, whether drafting or responding to client emails, building presentation materials, or generating and prioritizing your own leads
- Goal-oriented — experience working hard toward a goal, operate with certain level of grit, and are energized by doing so
- Resiliency — able to bounce back from rejection and objections and keep going
- Resourcefulness — demonstrated track record of persevering in the face of adversity
- Adaptability — priorities and direction can evolve quickly; you should have a positive can-do attitude, adapt readily to evolving business goals, and are receptive to constructive feedback
- Self-starter — when you see a need, you address it
- Recommended — strong sales and business acumen, with an interest in growing into more complex sales motions over time
Education & Experience
- 2-4 years experience in a sales role, ideally with a consultative or discovery-based component; financial services or SaaS backgrounds preferred
- Undergraduate or Post-Secondary degree in a related field
- Working financial literacy across account types — registered vs. non-registered, borrowing vs. deposit products
- Experience with sales technology like Salesforce, Salesloft, Gong, or equivalents
- Recommended — completion of or progress toward the Canadian Securities Course (CSC) or Investment Funds in Canada course (IFC)
