As the Maintenance & Operations Manager, based in Western Sydney, NSW, you will lead the establishment and ongoing operation of one of Australia's most advanced automated distribution facilities.

This role offers a unique opportunity to build a maintenance and operations team from the ground up, drive system performance, and ensure the successful launch and long-term operation of a highly automated warehouse featuring industry-leading material handling and automation technology.

Your Impact

  • Establish, recruit, onboard, and develop a high-performing maintenance and operations team for a major greenfield automated logistics site.
  • Lead the successful transition from project delivery to operational service, ensuring site readiness before go-live.
  • Drive system performance through achievement of KPIs across uptime, OEE, reliability, safety, and customer satisfaction.
  • Develop and continuously improve maintenance strategies, asset management frameworks, and spare parts processes.
  • Act as the primary customer contact for operational performance, service delivery, escalations, and incident management.
  • Utilise data, CMMS systems, and performance analytics to optimise maintenance effectiveness and equipment reliability.
  • Foster a strong safety-first culture while leading continuous improvement initiatives across people, processes, and technology.

What Makes You a Great Fit?

  • Proven leadership experience within industrial, manufacturing, logistics, mining, or highly automated operational environments.
  • Demonstrated experience establishing, commissioning, or scaling a new service operation, warehouse, or industrial facility.
  • Strong maintenance management expertise, including CMMS platforms, reliability strategies, and asset lifecycle management.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams while balancing safety, customer outcomes, uptime, and cost performance.
  • Relevant trade, engineering, technical, or business qualification, combined with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Familiar with continuous improvement methodologies such as the Toyota Production System (TPS) or similar operational frameworks, including Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and other operational excellence practices, with the ability to drive process optimisation, improve efficiency, and support operational performance.
