Job description

About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

TapBlaze is looking for a Senior Game Producer to help us run and scale production across Good Pizza, Great Pizza, Good Coffee, Great Coffee, and future titles. You will own production across our live games, turning product and creative direction into clear, executable plans and driving releases from approved concept through launch and post-launch verification.

Your responsibility is to make sure the complete player experience ships correctly and on time, not simply to update Jira or report status.

You will work closely with the product leadership in Los Angeles while coordinating execution between our Los Angeles team and our publishing partner in Beijing. For major live events, platform featuring opportunities, content updates, and releases, you will be the person making sure every function is aligned, dependencies are visible, risks are surfaced early, and nothing falls between teams.

What You Will

Own

End-to-End Launch & Release Ownership

  • Own production for major live events, features, content updates, platform promotions, and releases from approved concept through launch and post-launch verification.
  • Build launch plans with clear milestones, owners, dependencies, content locks, QA windows, release candidates, and go/no-go checkpoints.
  • Make sure Product, Engineering, Art, Narrative, QA, Localization, Marketing, and platform requirements come together as one coherent launch.
  • Surface risks early and drive tradeoff discussions with the appropriate product, creative, and functional owners.

Turn Designs Into Executable Production Plans

  • Ensure approved design/product specifications are current, complete, and treated as the single source of truth.
  • Translate initiatives into clear Jira epics, tasks, owners, dependencies, and deadlines; partner with functional owners to refine technical and discipline-specific subtasks.
  • Make sure Engineering and QA are never expected to implement or test from outdated Slack messages or ambiguous documentation.
  • Establish and enforce practical standards for design handoff, task readiness, change tracking, and acceptance criteria.

Cross-Functional & LA–Beijing Production

  • Coordinate production between our Los Angeles team and our publishing partner in Beijing, keeping priorities, dependencies, handoffs, and deadlines aligned across time zones.
  • Create enough overlap and communication structure that issues spanning TapBlaze and our publishing partner are resolved without depending on the CEO to connect the pieces.
  • Partner with team members and functional leads at TapBlaze and our publishing partner to clarify ownership, escalate blockers, and improve accountability.
  • Be comfortable working across cultures and time zones; Mandarin and/or prior China/APAC game-development experience is a strong plus.

QA, Localization & Release Readiness

  • Ensure QA coverage, test planning, regression scope, release-candidate timing, and critical launch coverage are planned before they become emergencies.
  • Make localization part of the production plan from the beginning, including source-string completeness, deadlines, implementation, and verification.
  • Run lightweight launch-readiness reviews for important releases and make unresolved risks explicit before launch.
  • Ensure post-release smoke testing and verification are assigned and completed.

Production Systems & Continuous Improvement

  • Build simple, scalable production processes that improve clarity and accountability without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Own Jira and production documentation as tools for execution—not as ends in themselves.
  • Run postmortems when launches or processes break down, identify root causes, and turn lessons into durable process improvements.
  • Develop clear escalation paths and operating rhythms for live games, including major releases and critical incidents.

You’re a Great Fit If ...

  • You have 5+ years of game production experience, including meaningful ownership of shipped or live-operated games.
  • You have strong experience with mobile f2p live games, recurring content, live ops, or similarly fast release environments.
  • You have led cross-functional production across multiple disciplines rather than only managing schedules for a single team.
  • You are highly organized, but your value is judgment and ownership, not just task administration and coordination. We are not looking for project manager type producers.
  • You naturally ask what is missing, who owns it, what can block launch, and what needs to happen next.
  • You are comfortable challenging unclear requirements, incomplete handoffs, unrealistic schedules, and unowned dependencies.
  • You can operate effectively in a small, hands-on studio where leaders are expected to solve problems rather than pass them between departments.
  • Production experience with distributed teams, co-development partners, or publishers is strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with teams in China or APAC is strongly preferred; Mandarin is a plus.

What Success Looks Like

  • Major launches have a clearly accountable owner, current source-of-truth documentation, complete Jira execution plans, task owners, dependencies, and readiness checkpoints.
  • Product, Engineering, QA, Localization, and Marketing are aligned before release rather than discovering conflicts at the end.
  • Cross-time-zone execution between our Los Angeles team and our publishing partner in Beijing becomes predictable and transparent.
  • Problems are surfaced and resolved by the production organization before they need CEO intervention.
  • The team learns from misses and improves the system so the same failure does not recur.
