Our challenge

Synechron is looking for an L2 Production Services Analyst to provide production support for Front Office Equity Derivatives and Risk platforms. The role is responsible for maintaining the stability of business-critical trading applications, resolving production incidents, supporting releases, and ensuring high availability across the trade lifecycle in a 24x7 support environment.

Additional Information*

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. In accordance with law, the base salary for this role if filled within Halifax, NS is CAD $100k – CAD $110k/year & benefits (see below).

Responsibilities

  • Provide L2 production support for Equity Derivatives, Front Office Trading, and Risk Analytics applications.
  • Monitor production environments, investigate alerts, and resolve P1/P2 incidents within SLA.
  • Perform Unix/Linux troubleshooting, log analysis, SQL-based data validation, and application diagnostics.
  • Support trade execution workflows, batch processing, and end-of-day operational activities.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and collaborate with L3 Engineering, Development, and Infrastructure teams.
  • Participate in production releases, change management, disaster recovery testing, and operational readiness reviews.
  • Maintain runbooks, knowledge articles, and ITIL-compliant incident/problem records.

Requirements

  • 5–8 years of L2 Application/Production Support in Capital Markets.
  • Strong knowledge of Equity Derivatives, Front Office Trading, Risk Analytics, or Trade Execution platforms.
  • Hands-on Unix/Linux administration and Shell scripting.
  • Strong SQL (Oracle/SQL Server/PostgreSQL) for production investigation and reconciliation.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Splunk, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Kibana.
  • Working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem, Change, and Release Management.
  • Excellent communication skills with experience supporting business users and traders during critical production events.

Preferred, but not required:

  • Exposure to FIX protocol, market data, or electronic trading systems.
  • Experience with Autosys/Control-M, Jenkins, Git, and DevOps-based release processes.
  • Prior experience supporting high-availability Front Office applications in an investment banking environment.
