Company Overview
Most companies don't end in acquisition — they end in closure. Yet shutdown has never been given the same rigor, clarity, or professionalism as the moments that came before it. Nearly 4 million companies shut down every year, creating a massive, overlooked market.
SimpleClosure is building the infrastructure to change that.
Having raised over $20M from leading VCs and trusted by more than 7,000 companies to date, we streamline the entire business dissolution process — from legal and tax to operational and administrative — as one coordinated effort instead of a patchwork of disconnected steps. We take it a step further by connecting founders with buyers for their remaining assets, so they can realize value that would otherwise be lost.
Joining SimpleClosure means helping define an entirely new category, solving complex, high-impact problems, and building the products and processes that support founders through one of the most important moments in a company's journey.
The Role
We're looking for a Communications & Editorial Manager to help shape how SimpleClosure shows up in the conversations happening across the startup world.
This person will stay closely plugged into what founders, VCs, lawyers, and operators are talking about, monitor the trends shaping startups and shutdowns, and identify the stories and points of view SimpleClosure should be part of.
At the center of the role is strong editorial judgment. You'll need to recognize when there's a story worth telling, develop the right angle, and turn it into compelling PR, executive thought leadership, and social content.
You'll also own our social calendar and help determine how those stories are distributed across LinkedIn, X, Instagram, and other relevant channels. That may include written content, video, event content, founder stories, company data, or commentary tied to what's happening in the market.
AEO is another growing part of the role. You'll work with the Growth team to turn our strongest insights, expertise, and stories into content that can continue to be discovered long after the initial news cycle.
You'll report to the Head of Marketing and work closely with our leadership team, GTM team, designers, and external partners.
This is a hybrid role based in Los Angeles or New York.
