Role Overview
As a Software Engineer at Salesforce, you'll join a dynamic global team responsible for delivering and supporting the technology infrastructure that powers our business growth. You'll lead projects to optimize current services and build next-generation software for our global production environments, collaborating closely with Engineering and Development teams to keep services operational, streamlined, and scalable.
What you'll be doing:
- Drive efficiency: Identify and develop software solutions that improve operational efficiency and provide detailed visibility into performance metrics.
- Innovate with AI: Develop AI-based automation to reduce errors, increase system availability, and accelerate operational velocity.
- Build orchestration and automation: Enhance automation capabilities and develop orchestration tools to optimize system efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
- Design software: Design, develop, and test software with a focus on automation, scalability, and security, while mentoring other engineers.
- Support operations: Provide high-level support for Puppet and Oracle operational workflows.
Technical skills & requirements:
- Expertise: Advanced proficiency in Python, Go, and Terraform.
- Cloud & infrastructure: Hands-on experience with public cloud platforms (AWS/GCP), Kubernetes, and Karpenter.
- Databases: Strong knowledge of database operations (Oracle preferred) and Postgres.
- Systems fundamentals: Solid understanding of systems at the operating-system level (e.g., Linux internals, process management, memory management, and file systems).
- Configuration management: Proven experience with Puppet.
Nice to have
Familiarity with the ElasticSearch/Kibana stack and REST API design.
Basic qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in a cloud native, enterprise environment
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- A track record of delivering impactful features in complex, fast-paced environments.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
