Job description
About this role
Governments are deciding right now how they’ll use AI. As our Public Sector Account Executive, you’ll help shape those decisions.
You’ll own a quota-carrying territory and act as a trusted advisor to the agencies, departments and decision-makers who deliver services to Australians. You’ll be working with a company that has made public sector a strategic priority, and our leaders are already in the room with the Australian Government on live policy and legislation.
You won’t be doing it alone. You’ll lead a matrix team of specialists who are all invested in your success.
What you’ll do
- Run your territory. Build territory and account plans that turn a defined customer base into a growing, predictable pipeline.
- Be the government expert. Stay ahead of regulatory change, government initiatives and procurement cycles, so customers come to you for advice.
- Win. Prospect, qualify, negotiate and close, and meet or exceed your quota.
- Match solutions to needs. Connect our products to what each agency needs to deliver.
- Lead the account team. You’ll guide a matrix team of Business Development Representatives, Cloud Sales Executives, Solution Engineers, Services Practice Managers, Marketing, Inside Sales Support and Customer Success. Together you’ll own the territory plan and build detailed plans for your largest accounts.
- Build the partner ecosystem. Develop strategic alliances as part of an integrated account and territory plan.
- Let your pipeline tell the story. We’re a CRM company, so your pipeline should show a clear strategy and accurate account status. That’s how we make good decisions and hit our targets.
- Earn long-term trust. Understand the real constraints your customers face, including budgets, regulation and shifting policy, and show how we help them solve for those constraints. Know the competition well.
- Keep everyone aligned. Communicate clearly with leaders, customers, partners and extended teams on public sector priorities.
- Get out to customers. Expect regular travel to customer sites, particularly across New South Wales.
- Keep growing. Take part in strategic planning, sales training, customer marketing and volunteering.
Why Salesforce
- Purpose built in. We pioneered the Pledge 1% model, and we’ve been named #1 on PEOPLE’s Top 50 Companies that Care and Fortune’s Change the World list.
- Give back. 7 paid volunteer days a year, plus matching for approved charitable donations.
- Be looked after. Health, Life, Trauma and Income Insurance, plus a monthly Wellness Allowance.
- Family and flexibility. Support for IVF, adoption and fertility preservation, parental benefits, and flexible time off and leave.
- And more. Additional perks and discounts.
