What is a Solution Engineer?

Also known as a "Pre-Sales Engineer" or "Sales Consultant," the Solution Engineer is responsible for presenting product offerings and architecture in the best light to prospects and customers, to evoke confidence in the company's technology, and to remove technical objections in the sales cycle.

To accomplish this, the Solution Engineer leverages both technical and sales skills — soliciting business requirements, developing a technical sales strategy, and configuring and effectively demonstrating solutions that address those requirements and deliver business value.

About the Role

As a Specialist Solution Engineer for Agentforce & Data 360, you are trusted technical advisor and field specialist for customers evaluating, implementing, and expanding their use of Salesforce Agentforce and Data 360 (Data Cloud), and the broader enterprise data and AI ecosystem.

Your work sits at the intersection of solution engineering, applied data and AI, and delivery-aware judgment on what it takes to make a solution succeed. You partner with Account Executives and Solution Engineers throughout the sales cycle to translate customers' data and AI ambitions into practical, demonstrable, and trusted solutions.

This role asks you to go both deep and wide: deep on the trusted data and agent foundation that everything depends on, and wide across the ecosystem on which your customers actually run their business because real value lives at the seams between systems, not inside any single product.

Your Impact

  • Act as the domain expert and evangelist for Agentforce and Data 360 to customers (including C-level and IT executives) and to internal teams.
  • Partner with Account Executives and Solution Engineers to understand each customer's unique business goals and challenges, and to shape the technical sales strategy across the sales cycle.
  • Lead deep discovery to uncover customers' real problems, where data and processes break down, and where AI agents can create leverage, and pressure-test feasibility, data readiness, and cost-to-serve early.
  • Deliver executive-level, tailored product demonstrations, prototypes, and proofs of concept that closely reflect each customer's business and demonstrate both what's real and what it takes to operationalize and scale.
  • Lead discussions around Agentforce, Data 360, data structures and patterns, AI readiness, grounding and retrieval, identity, governance, integration, automation, and business value.
  • Articulate the value of the broader Salesforce platform and connect the data & AI story to the customer's return on investment.
  • Execute enablement activities (webinars, best practices, knowledge shares) for both customers and internal peers, and enable the broader Solution Engineering team to position the value of Agentforce and Data 360.
  • Turn what you learn in the field into reusable assets, reference patterns, best practices, and product feedback that extend your impact beyond your immediate deals — routinely engaging Product and Engineering teams to improve our products and the customer experience.

Minimum Qualifications

  • 7+ years of experience in Pre-Sales / Solution Engineering, architecture, consulting, implementation, or a related technical role in complex enterprise environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead technical discovery and shape technical sales strategy, connecting business needs to technology decisions.
  • Strong understanding of enterprise data, AI, integration, governance, security, and platform architecture concepts and patterns.
  • Excellent presentation and storytelling skills, with proven experience engaging both executive and technical audiences, in person and over the web.
  • Superb written communication skills for both internal and external audiences.
  • Strong time-management skills, with the ability to run multiple projects and sales cycles in parallel.
  • A builder's mindset — comfortable picking up new tools and getting hands-on to prototype, demo, and prove concepts.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and learning velocity in emerging technologies, especially the AI, data, automation, and agentic systems space.
  • Fluent Portuguese and professional English.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, another STEM field, or equivalent work experience.

Helpful Experience

We care most about field credibility, learning velocity, and stakeholder impact. Experience with any of the following is a plus:

  • Conversational AI, generative AI, AI agents, AI governance and observability, and enterprise automation.
  • Data platforms and patterns — data modeling, identity resolution, harmonization, real-time data, and grounding/retrieval for AI.
  • Modern data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or BigQuery, and the hyperscaler ecosystems around them.
  • Programming languages such as Python, SQL, and AI-assisted development pipelines.
  • Building demos, prototypes, proofs of concept, workshops, reference architectures, or field enablement assets.
  • Salesforce certifications (Administrator, Platform, Data Cloud, AI Associate/Specialist, or Architect).
