The Experience

The Community & Customer Advocacy team is the heart and soul of Tableau - bringing together a global family of data enthusiasts to connect, learn, and grow, while sharing real customer success stories that show how Tableau transforms businesses.

As a Community Program Senior Analyst, you'll lead engaging community programs, coordinate live and virtual event activations, run exciting contests, and help people around the world share how they use Tableau. This is a hybrid role with three days in office each week.

What You'll Actually Be Doing

  • Supports execution for global contests and product showcases - such as our flagship competition, Iron Viz - managing launch timelines, website updates, promotional campaigns, prize budgets, and program guidelines.
  • Plan and execute ongoing engagement programs, virtual events, and community moments that keep our global data community active, connected, and learning.
  • Partner closely with Legal to set official rules and eligibility for programs, and coordinate guest speakers, judges, contestants, and event logistics from start to finish.
  • Partner with Events, Marketing, and Product teams on rehearsals, main-stage sessions, and live broadcasts that highlight community talent and product innovation.
  • Find and celebrate user-generated content from our community, integrating real-world projects into marketing channels to drive product adoption.
  • Monitor participation metrics and engagement data across programs to deliver insights, guide decision-making, and showcase program value.

You're Our Person If...

  • You have 3-5+ years of experience in marketing, community engagement, or managing live/virtual events, activations, and programs from start to finish.
  • You have at least 1 year of experience using Tableau, Excel, or similar analytics tools to track and interpret program performance data.
  • You have strong detail orientation to manage timelines, multi-step projects, event logistics, and budgets without missing a beat.
  • You have excellent written and verbal communication skills to collaborate smoothly with internal teams, legal partners, speakers, and community members.

Even Better If...

  • You have prior experience with live event production, virtual broadcast tools, social media, or online community spaces (like Slack or forums).
  • You have a creative, entrepreneurial mindset - you love trying new ideas and enjoy taking full ownership of projects.
  • You know how to translate program engagement numbers into clear ROI stories for leadership.
