About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
Runpod is the AI Developer Cloud. More than one million developers, from indie researchers to teams running frontier models in production, use Runpod to experiment, train, fine-tune, deploy, and scale AI on one platform. The platform has processed more than 20 billion inference requests, and we closed a $100M Series A in June 2026.
More from our CEO here: https://www. runpod. io/blog/one-million-developers
We're a small, remote-first team. We take ownership seriously, we move fast, and the work ships to more than a million developers.
You'll join the Marketing team, which owns how Runpod looks, sounds, and shows up: the site, launches, events, social, and everything a developer sees before they create an account. Video reports directly into Brand, because we treat it as a craft function with a bar to hold, not a service desk that fills orders. Day to day you'll work with DevRel, Content, Events, and Growth.
This is Runpod's first video hire, so there's no system to inherit and nobody to hand the edit to. The demand is already real: 220 to 500 deliverables a year across social, paid, demos, and launches. The product is technical, and the audience is sharp enough to reward getting it right.
You'll decide what Runpod's video system looks like: the formats we build, the templates behind them, who's on the bench, what we measure, and where the bar sits.
This is a senior individual contributor, player-coach role. You'll spend roughly 70 percent of your time hands on the timeline and 30 percent owning the queue from intake to delivery. You'll collaborate a bench of one videographer who shoots all US events, plus a motion contractor.
The focus is editorial and motion design, not live action or camera work. Both touch nearly every asset we make, and they compound: build the template once and the twentieth launch video is cheap.
Responsibilities
- Own intake, brief, scope, schedule, delivery, and measurement for every video request at Runpod.
- Make the ship / one more round / rethink call and defend it, so craft decisions stop routing upward.
- Hold cycle-time targets: 48 hours for social cutdowns and templated assets, five business days for demos, 72 hours for event wraps, fifteen to twenty business days for bespoke launch animation.
- Keep the tracker honest: an owner and a date on every live request, and a reason when something gets killed.
- Cut every video yourself, from story and pacing to dead-air discipline and final delivery.
- Put real product on screen, legible enough that a developer takes it seriously at social sizes.
- Build the template format library covering demos, launches, customer reels, social cutdowns, and event wraps.
- Animate title sequences and data callouts unaided, with easing and type rhythm as deliberate choices.
- Build variant systems for the 30 to 80 paid ad cuts we need, so nobody is cutting 80 videos one at a time.
- Hold a current read on where AI generation earns its place and where it makes the work worse. We sell AI infrastructure, so how we make our own video is part of the argument.
- Direct the videographer and motion contractor, and require source files in every SOW so the system stays ours after the engagement ends.
Requirements
- Has shipped video for a technical or developer audience, and can name the specific assets and their own role on each. A client list won't tell us much. We'll ask what a developer audience won't forgive.
- Cuts fast and finishes clean, solo: edit, sound, captions, aspect variants, delivery specs, no handoffs. Has worked to a 48-hour clock and can describe what got cut to make it.
- Comfortable with AI-capable workflow integration using Remotion or equivalent code-based programmatic video generation to build automated variant and template pipelines.
- Motion-capable in After Effects or equivalent, without reaching for presets. You don't need to be a designer. You do need to be making the motion choices yourself.
- Has run a video program end to end and stood behind the final call.
Preferred:
- Managing a freelance bench and studio relationships, including day rates and running an SOW from the client side.
- Distribution and measurement instinct past view count.
- 3D or hardware visualization exposure. We care more about knowing when 3D is worth buying than about your ability to build it.
- Has been the first or only video person somewhere, and knows what that costs.
What You'll Receive:
- The competitive base pay for this position ranges from $130,000 to $185,000. This salary range may be inclusive of several career levels at Runpod and will be narrowed during the interview process based on a number of factors, including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and location.
- Meaningful equity. Everyone on the team receives stock options, so you share in the upside.
- Generous medical, dental, and vision plans.
- Flexible PTO, so take the time you need.
- Remote-first for most roles, with Slack as the main channel for internal communication.
- $1,200 home office and equipment stipend to set up your workspace.
