This exciting and challenging role requires effective engagement with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver project outcomes. In this role, the Operations Lead works closely with the Operations Manager, the customer, and key stakeholders to achieve trial, or program objectives.

This includes contributing to mission setup, supporting mission execution, and assisting in overall mission management to ensure efficient, safe and effective delivery. The role demands strong communication, organisational, and stakeholder management capabilities, with the ability to manage competing priorities while ensuring services are delivered safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project objectives.

Key Responsibilities

• Trial planning with the customer, support working groups, define and document requirements to achieve Mission success.
• Assist in the development, review and update of operations plans, processes, procedures, and enablers.
• Assist in the planning to support the deployment of mission systems.
• Coordination of project deliverables.

Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

• University Degree in Program Management, Engineering, or Computer Science, or equivalent experience.
• Proven high standard of written and verbal communication skills.
• Requires broad knowledge of Test Range Mission System Equipment and other Defence assets.
• Demonstrates expertise within their professional discipline and a strong understanding of how their work and decisions impacts other areas of the organisation.
• Desirable – experience in solution and proposal development, including the financial and commercial aspects of a proposal.
• Desirable – prior experience on Defence sustainment support contracts.
• Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting Level 2 Security clearance as needed. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
