What You Will Do

Come join the Boeing Platforms department engineering team as a principal software engineer. The engineer will help with requirements capture and design and develop embedded software in C++ for the A661 Graphics Server. The candidate will also test and verify the developed software to Design Assurance Level A fidelity per DO-178C standard.

Immerse yourself in a full-time, Monday-Friday co-op session, that will run January-August (including the Spring semester; it is expected students will take a semester off from coursework to fully engage with this working mentorship opportunity)

• Contribute to Software Requirements, Design, Code, and Verification of the cockpit display system’s graphics server.
• Understand Collins Aerospace processes related to software development and verification and apply them to current projects.
• Work with desktop computer in an office environment and with target hardware in an engineering lab to achieve the goal of delivering a high-quality software product within schedule and cost constraints

What You Will Learn

• Identify the root cause of moderate to complex software issues using appropriate debug and analysis tools.
• Clearly summarize encountered technical software issues to project leadership in a timely fashion.
• Work together in a collaborative team that is part of multi large systems
• Full life cycle development of DO-178 DAL A certified software

Qualifications You Must Have

• Must be pursuing Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) discipline and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.
• Must have a minimum of 29 hours of credit by the start of the internship / co-op session.
• Experience may be obtained through on-the-job experience, research, coursework, or projects.

Qualifications

We Prefer

• Demonstrated interest in embedded software solutions and board-level device drivers
• Programming experience in C, C++ and/or Python

Comfortable with real-time operating system and object-oriented programming concepts

• Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle
• Energetic and proactive self-starter with strong interpersonal and communications skills
• Prior RTX internship, co-op, or work experience.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
