• The Systems Engineering and Test Capabilities (SE&TC) Surface Radars & Sensors Center is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to be the Scrum Master for an agile team focused on system performance analysis and verification to support AN/TPY-2 within the Long Range Radars Department.
• This onsite role is based in Woburn, MA.
• The Systems Engineering Long Range Radars (SELRR) department provides subject matter expertise for concept development, architectural design, requirements generation & flow-down, modeling and simulation, systems analysis, integration, test and evaluation of world-class Missile Defense & Sensor Systems to be achieved through our people, processes, technology and performance.
• The AN/TPY‑2 is a missile defense radar capable of detecting, tracking, and discriminating ballistic missiles.
• Operating in the X‑band portion of the electromagnetic spectrum, it provides high‑resolution target identification, enabling it to distinguish real threats from non‑threats such as launch debris.

What You Will Do

• Facilitate daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives to keep the team aligned and delivering predictably.
• Remove impediments such as blocked tasks, missing requirements, and tool issues, while protecting the team from unplanned scope changes.
• Coach engineering team members on Agile principles to strengthen collaboration, backlog quality, and continuous improvement.
• Ensure clear, consistent communication across engineering, product, and stakeholder groups to maintain shared understanding and smooth workflows.
• Coordinate daily activities such as assessing blockers, updating burndown metrics, collaborating with the Product Owner, and managing cross‑team dependencies.
• Support system performance assessment activities, including threat evaluation and scenario development for system validation.
• Perform requirements verification, Technical Performance Measure (TPM) assessments, trade studies, and system performance gap analyses.
• Provide technical direction, manage roadblocks, and work effectively with both internal and external customers.
• Maintain awareness of team financials, planning, and cost‑to‑complete status.

Qualifications

You Must Have

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 5 years of prior relevant experience.
• Experience in radar data and performance analysis and/or other related areas of systems engineering.
• Experience working in an Agile environment and/or on Agile development projects.
• Experience in overseeing and/or monitoring technical cost and schedule performance.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in technical efforts, cost, and schedule management.
• Expertise in radar systems engineering, performance assessment, and requirements verification.
• Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, and systems engineering tools (e.g., IBM DOORS).
• Strong communication, technical writing, and customer interface skills.
• Familiarity with AN/TPY-2 Systems, Missile Defense programs, and Agile Scrum practices.
• Experience in hiring, staffing planning, and working within dynamic, time-critical environments.
• Knowledge of Earned Value Management principles and metrics.
• Advanced degree (PhD/Master’s) in Engineering or related discipline
• Active DoD Security Clearance.

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
