  • The Open Systems Solutions (OSS) Products Team in Cedar Rapids, Iowa is seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to support development activities for next generation Open System Architecture products.
  • Our organization delivers modular, open standards compliant solutions that enable rapid deployment of mission critical capabilities to the warfighter We are looking for a motivated Senior Systems Engineer who will contribute to requirements development, interface definition, system behavior modeling, and verification/validation of solutions that support today’s multi domain battlespace.
  • This position involves collaborating with cross functional teams to ensure system-level consistency, traceability, and technical quality across hardware, software, and mission focused capabilities.
  • This position requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective teamwork in a fast paced engineering environment.

What You Will Do

  • Develop and manage system requirements, including traceability, decomposition, and interface definitions
  • Support system architecture development and participate in design reviews
  • Assist with modeling, analysis, and documentation of system behavior and performance
  • Contribute to verification planning, testability assessments, and requirement coverage analysis
  • Collaborate with software, hardware, and specialty engineering teams to ensure system level alignment
  • Analyze technical issues, participate in problem investigations, and support trade studies
  • Document system behaviors, requirements compliance, risks, and decision outcomes for engineering and program leadership
  • Support customer discussions, internal reviews, and engineering demonstrations as needed
  • Contribute to improvements in systems engineering processes, tools, and workflows
  • 10% Travel Required

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Experience with systems engineering processes which may include requirements capture, decomposition, interface definition, integration, and verification/validation
  • Experience with systems engineering tools, modeling techniques, or requirements management environments
  • Active and transferable Secret U.S. government issued security clearance is required prior to start date
  • U.S. citizenship only (dual citizenship not permitted) is required, as access to information under this program/contract is restricted to individuals with sole U.S. citizenship
  • Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience with Cryptographic Hardware architecture/design, Network Encryption specifications and test methodologies
  • Experience in system integration and test activities, including test planning, execution, or results analysis
  • Exposure to lab environments, SIL/HIL setups, or classified test environments
  • Familiarity with cross domain solutions, cryptographic hardware, or secure communications technologies
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (SysML, Cameo, Rhapsody)
  • Knowledge of scripting, automation, or diagnostic tools used during integration or verification
  • Experience with Agile processes (Scrum, SAFe)
  • Existing SAP clearance

The salary range for this role is 86,800 USD - 165,200 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
