What You Will Do
· Serve as a thought leader and advocate for RTX, strengthening strategic collaborations with A*STAR, universities, academic institutions, and research organizations.
· Establish, develop, and maintain strong partnerships with A*STAR and key academic and research institutions to advance industry-academia collaboration.
· Develop and lead strategic research and technology projects that align institutional research capabilities with RTX’s business and technology priorities.
· Oversee a portfolio of academic collaboration projects, ensuring high-impact outcomes and alignment with RTX’s long-term technology strategy.
· Identify emerging technologies, research trends, and innovation opportunities within academia with potential applications across aerospace, defense, and related industries.
· Drive the transition and integration of relevant academic research outcomes into RTX’s technology development pipeline and product applications.
· Ensure compliance with intellectual property agreements, research contracts, funding requirements, and applicable regulatory requirements.
· Mentor senior engineers and team members involved in research, technology development, and academic collaboration initiatives.
· Support the Pratt & Whitney Singapore Technology Accelerator team by leading and executing technology development projects from concept through implementation, ensuring delivery within agreed scope, schedule, and budget.
· Ensure compliance with applicable regulatory, safety, and quality standards throughout the development and implementation of new technologies and processes.
Qualifications
- You Must Have · Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Business, or a related field.
- · At least 10 years of experience in engineering, research and development (R&D), technology development, or technology leadership roles.
- · Demonstrated experience leading large-scale, cross-functional research or technology projects, including collaborations with government agencies, academic institutions, or research organizations.
- · Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical initiatives and translate research outcomes into practical technology or business applications.
- · Strong passion for innovation, emerging technologies, and fostering successful industry-academia collaborations.
Qualifications
- We Prefer · Master’s degree in Engineering, Science, Technology, Business, or a related field.
- · Experience within the aerospace, defense, advanced manufacturing, or related technology sectors.
- · Strong strategic leadership capabilities, with the ability to establish and drive the direction of research and academic collaboration initiatives.
- · Advanced technical knowledge with demonstrated ability to address complex engineering and technology challenges.
- · Exceptional communication, stakeholder management, and negotiation skills, with the ability to build strong relationships across academic, government, research, and internal stakeholders.
- · Experience securing or managing research funding, research agreements, and intellectual property arrangements.
- · Strong organizational and program management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex, high-impact projects concurrently.
