• Join our team as an Industrial Engineering COOP on the New Product Introduction Team in Cedar Rapids, IA, where you'll apply Industrial Engineering concepts and analysis tools to drive transformative changes in manufacturing operations.
• Your focus will be on improving product quality, reducing costs, and optimizing production flow, contributing directly to our team’s efficiency and competitiveness.

What You Will Do

• Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflow.
• Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory, and production record systems.
• Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, and collaborate with design teams to incorporate changes to eliminate these risks.
• Manage moderately sized projects or processes.
• Independently resolve problems that are complex and challenging.
• Develop tactical plans to address and manage day-to-day challenges.
• Travel occasionally to local regional sites in Iowa.

What You Will Learn:

• Develop expertise as an industrial engineer supporting high-frequency communication radios and circuit board manufacturing processes.
• Gain proficiency using engineering tools such as SAP, engineering drawings, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, and others for building and testing radios.
• Acquire experience with standard work tools and processes, including executing CORE certification.
• Explore opportunities for growth and professional development, expanding your knowledge for future roles.
• Build communication and collaboration skills essential for success in this role.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering or a related STEM field and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications

We Prefer:

• Prior experience in manufacturing environments.
• Background in root cause analysis.
• Experience with CAD software.
• Proven track record of driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

As part of our commitment to maintaining a secure hiring process, candidates may be asked to attend select steps of the interview process in-person at one of our office locations, regardless of whether the role is designated as on-site, hybrid or remote.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U. S. -based role.
