What You Will Do

  • Support manufacturing processes, including equipment, floor layouts, work sequences, work instructions, procedures, and workflows.
  • Conduct studies on cost control, productivity, cost reduction, inventory management, and production record systems.
  • Review products and processes for quality, safety, and producibility risks, collaborating with design teams to incorporate changes that eliminate risks.
  • Manage moderately sized projects or processes.
  • Independently resolve problems that are complex and challenging.
  • Develop tactical plans to address day-to-day challenges effectively.
  • Travel occasionally to local Iowa regional sites as required.

  • Gaining expertise as an industrial engineer supporting various high-frequency communication radios and circuit board manufacturing processes.
  • Developing proficiency in engineering tools used in the build and test of Datalinks radios, including SAP, engineering drawings, change control boards, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, eView, PDM, and others.
  • Acquiring experience with standard work tools and processes.
  • Exploring significant growth and development opportunities to advance into other roles.
  • Building strong communication and collaboration skills, which are essential for success in this role.
  • Developing leadership skills through hands-on experience.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

  • Currently pursuing a BS-level STEM degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Aerospace, or a similar engineering program through the duration of the co-op session.

Qualifications

We Prefer:

  • Previous co-op or internship experience in manufacturing environments.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis.
  • Familiarity with CAD software.
  • Demonstrated experience driving continuous improvement in manufacturing operations.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
