What You Will Do

• Work directly with manufacturing production floor employees, including operators, inspectors, quality, and test technicians, to solve day-to-day issues and proactively address long-term projects to eliminate recurring problems.
• Design tooling to aid the manufacturing process while utilizing additive manufacturing (3D printing) to support production needs.
• Analyze the best layout and flow for building, testing, troubleshooting, repairing, and modifying electronic or electro-mechanical devices, assemblies, subsystems, and systems.
• Assist in planning the allocation of resources, materials, and personnel to maximize equipment utilization.
• Conduct studies related to cost control, productivity improvement, cost reduction, inventory control, and production record systems.

• Gain firsthand industrial engineering experience by working alongside Industrial Engineers and other engineering functions in a manufacturing environment.
• Develop the ability to identify and resolve manufacturing issues related to safety, ergonomics, quality, flow, and cost.
• Strengthen your ability to work both independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams through various tasks and projects.
• Develop critical time management and prioritization skills essential for success in the industrial engineering field.
• Learn to plan the sequence of operations, create manufacturing documents, establish standard work, and define product routings.

Qualifications

You Must Have:

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s or Advanced degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Systems, or Aerospace Engineering and actively enrolled through the completion of the internship/co-op session.

Qualifications

We Prefer:

• Experience with Microsoft Excel, including formulas, data analysis, and basic visualization.
• Experience with CAD software such as AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar.
• Familiarity with Lean/Six Sigma, process mapping, time studies, or root-cause analysis.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Hired applicants may be eligible for annual short-term and/or long-term incentive compensation programs depending on the level of the position and whether or not it is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.

This role is a U. S. -based role.
