We are seeking an experienced Senior Manager for Local Procurement to join our team in India.

This critical leadership role will be responsible for executing, monitoring, and optimizing procurement activities in alignment with global procurement guidelines set by our headquarters in Japan. The successful candidate will possess deep expertise in procurement functions, ensuring local processes meet international standards and contribute to our global sourcing strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all local procurement operations in India, ensuring compliance with global procurement guidelines and best practices.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor procurement strategies tailored to the local market while supporting global business objectives.
  • Execute hands-on procurement processes, including tendering, supplier selection, and contract management.
  • Prepare regular reports and analysis for the Global Procurement Director and, as needed, for India local management.
  • Support change management initiatives to drive continuous improvement and innovation in procurement practices.
  • Drive cost optimization, supplier performance, vendor management, and risk management within the local procurement function.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams in India and global headquarters to ensure seamless communication and alignment.
  • Identify and develop relationships with key local suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure adherence to quality, ethical, and sustainability standards.
  • Bachelor’s degree (required) in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 10+ years experience working with international teams and reporting to global headquarters.
  • Strategic thinker with hands-on operational expertise.
  • Results-driven, proactive, and adaptable to change.
