Senior Staff Validation Engineer

The Post-Silicon Validation team within the Performance Computing Power Division is building a world-class organization of highly skilled engineers across multiple global sites. Our mission is to push the boundaries of silicon validation for industry-leading integrated circuits enabling high-power, high-efficiency power management systems.

As a Senior Staff Validation Engineer, you will be part of a multidisciplinary global development team and play a key role in ensuring that every new product fully meets its electrical, functional, and performance specifications before release to production.

You will work closely with Design, Applications, Product Engineering, Quality, and System teams to identify, debug, and resolve silicon and system-level issues while supporting aggressive product development and New Product Introduction (NPI) schedules.

Principal Responsibilities

• Drive the validation of analog, digital, mixed-signal, and power management ICs against electrical, functional, and performance specifications.
• Define the overall validation strategy and methodologies, develop comprehensive validation plans for complex products, platforms, or systems.
• Ensure validation coverage, requirements traceability, and compliance with quality and industry standards.
• Identify validation risks and develop mitigation plans to ensure product quality and schedule adherence.
• Drive test automation, validation infrastructure, and continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality and efficiency of our advanced laboratory for complex post-silicon evaluation.
• Hand-on with design of custom evaluation boards and supporting hardware for silicon characterization.
• Hand-on with development of automated validation frameworks and measurement scripts using Python.
• Provide technical leadership, mentorship, and guidance to validation engineers and project teams.
• Assess product readiness, communicate risks, and provide release recommendations to engineering and business leadership.
• Establish validation metrics and monitor quality performance to support data-driven decision making.
• Collaborate closely with Design, Applications, Firmware, Product Engineering, and Quality teams to investigate and resolve silicon and system-level bugs.
• Evaluate silicon validation results, analyze performances at device, board, and system level, identifying, documenting, and tracking silicon and application issues.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field, with 8-12 years of experience in power conversion, power management, semiconductor applications, or related system design.
• Technical leadership experience driving validation activities across multiple programs and product generations.
• Ability to define validation methodologies, test strategies, and coverage plans for complex mixed-signal and power-management ICs.
• Proven track record of hands-on bench validation, characterization, and debugging of complex hardware systems.
• Deep hands-on experience with laboratory instrumentation, including oscilloscopes, power supplies, electronic loads, source meters, digital multimeters, waveform generators, logic analyzers, and thermal characterization equipment.
• Proficiency in Python programming, with experience developing automated test solutions and laboratory automation frameworks.
• Deep experience with board level analog and digital circuit design and expertise for PCB schematic creation
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to effectively prioritize and execute silicon validation activities while delivering high-quality results under demanding project schedules.
• Extensive experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) activities from first silicon through production release .
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across global cross-functional teams.

The expected annual pay range for this position is €63,000–€84,000. Please note that the final offer will depend on factors such as geographic location, relevant experience, and the candidate’s skill set. This role is also eligible for a bonus.
