About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
Everpure (NYSE: P) has evolved from storage pioneer to data platform, closing fiscal 2026 with $3. 7 billion in revenue, its first billion-dollar quarter, and accelerating growth into FY27. Our strategic agenda spans the companies defining the next era of technology - hyperscalers, AI labs, the AI hardware supply chain, data platform providers, and the broader AI ecosystem.
This type of work—work that changes the world—is what the tech industry was founded on. So, if you're ready to seize the endless opportunities and leave your mark, come join us.
THE ROLE
We are hiring a senior quality engineer to own System Testing for Pure’s FlashArray products. You will validate stability, resiliency, and performance under sustained, production‑like workloads , far beyond basic functional testing.
You will design and run multi‑week, customer‑like scenarios that combine workloads, failovers, upgrades, and fault injections, and use the insights to influence architecture, design, and release decisions.
This is a hands‑on, high‑impact role at the intersection of architecture, systems, and large‑scale testing—acting as a key quality gate before releases reach Pure’s customers.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Own System Testing strategy for releases
Define System Testing strategy and test plans for major features and releases, focusing on stability, longevity, and end‑to‑end behavior, not just feature correctness.
- Design realistic, high‑value scenarios
Build scenarios that mirror Pure customer environments: mixed workloads (block, file, object), long‑running IO, failovers, NDUs, hardware events, and background operations (replication, snapshots, quotas, etc.) , combining automation with targeted “tortures”.
- Drive execution and triage on System Testing beds
Own System Testing environments (arrays, initiators, OSes, accessories); keep them healthy, representative, and well‑instrumented. Monitor runs, triage failures quickly, separate infra issues from product bugs, and file high‑quality defects with clear workload, scale, logs, and impact—driving them to closure with Dev, PM, and Release teams.
- Be a key voice in release readiness
Act as a primary quality gate for Release Candidates: define System Testing entry/exit criteria, sign‑off requirements, and soak expectations (for example, 24–48h+ without critical events). Summarize findings, risks, and recommendations and provide data‑driven input on go/no‑go decisions.
- Lead technically and mentor others
Coach mid‑level and junior QE engineers (System Testing and system test) on test design, debugging, triage, and long‑running validation best practices. Refine System Testing processes, playbooks, and governance in partnership with engineering managers and technical leaders.
- Advance automation, tooling, and observability
Partner with automation teams to extend System Testing workflows (workload drivers, torture suites, health checks, dashboards). Improve observability for System Testing: metrics, alerting, and automated log/triage helpers that make issues obvious and actionable.
WHAT YOU BRING
- 10+ years in software QA / system test / performance / reliability engineering , with significant experience in system‑level or longevity testing of complex distributed or storage systems.
- Strong understanding of storage concepts (block, file, snapshots, replication, HA/failover, NDUs) and their behavior under sustained load and fault conditions.
- Proven ability to design and execute long‑running scenarios that surface race conditions, memory leaks, scaling issues, and resiliency gaps.
- Strong debugging skills across host, network, storage system, logs, and metrics.
- Hands‑on experience with Linux and at least one of VMware, Windows, or Kubernetes.
- Solid experience with test automation (Python, shell), CI pipelines, and result dashboards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross‑functional collaboration with Development, System Test, Release, and Support.
- Clear written and verbal communication; comfortable presenting complex findings and risk assessments to senior engineers and leaders.
- Directory services and identity:AD, LDAP, Kerberos, ID mapping — and how per-tenant auth domains explode the test matrix.
- Linux systems skills:shell, networking (VLANs, sub-interfaces, routing,ip,tc), service debugging, log and core analysis at scale
Nice‑to‑have
- Background in enterprise storage .
- Experience with performance engineering , capacity / longevity modeling, or customer‑data‑driven test design.
- Exposure to AI‑assisted test design or triage and interest in using new tools to improve coverage and efficiency.
- Experience working with different hypervisors, backup applications, databases, video streaming or healthcare applications/workloads is a plus
- Prior multi-tenancy / RBAC / virtual-array isolation work in storage or cloud.
- Replication and DR:async/ADR, sync-rep, ActiveCluster or metro-cluster, split-brain and resync validation.
- QoS and quotatest background.
