Company Overview

At Panopto, we are the most customer-centric learning technology company in the world. As the leader in visual and audio-based learning, we empower organizations to share knowledge effortlessly in a capture and post-capture world. We don’t just build software; we obsess over our users’ goals to deliver solutions that truly matter.

Our mission is simple: to attract the brightest talent, people like you, to Elevate the Craft and do the most impactful work of your career.

Panopto is looking for a Senior Project Manager to own the execution behind our product initiatives — from the moment we commit to something through the day customers can use it. Position Summary In this role, you will have the opportunity to do the most impactful work of your career, elevating your craft while contributing to a team that values lifelong learning.

As the Senior Project Manager, you'll report to the Program Manager and sit inside the Product team on the R&D side, which means the job runs in both directions. Upstream, you're working with Product Managers, Engineering, and Design to keep committed work moving, dependencies visible, and slippage caught early.

Downstream, you're making sure Marketing has positioning, Support knows what's changing, Sales can sell it, and customers hear about it the day it goes live.

Most project management roles are one or the other. This one is deliberately both, because the handoffs between them are where things fall apart. You'll take initiatives that start as a paragraph and a target quarter, break them into a plan people can act on, and keep a distributed group of teams moving in the same direction until it's out the door.

This role is for someone energized rather than frustrated by ambiguity — you'll frequently be the person who turns "we're doing this next quarter" into a sequenced plan with owners and dates, and then holds everyone to it. You’ll also have opportunities to contribute to other initiatives that directly advance our core values and support you in elevating your craft.

How You’ll Contribute In this role, you will have the opportunity to Own the end-to-end plan for assigned initiatives — scope, sequence, dependencies, milestones, and readiness criteria from commitment through release. Break large, ambiguous initiatives into discrete workstreams with clear owners, and keep the group aligned as things shift.

Work alongside Product Managers and Engineering Leads to track delivery against commitments, surface slippage early, and keep cross-team dependencies visible and resolved. Facilitate the sessions that move work forward — dependency reviews, cross-team planning, release readiness — and make sure they end in decisions.

Translate engineering blockers and technical trade-offs into clear, honest updates for Product leadership and commercial stakeholders. Drive go-to-market readiness with Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, Support, and Customer Success so enablement lands with the release, not after it. Coordinate internal and customer-facing release communications, including release notes.

Build the templates, checklists, and repeatable processes that make the next release easier than the last one — using AI tooling to cut the manual overhead.

What Success Looks Like Within 3 months: You've built working relationships across Product, Engineering, Marketing, and Support, and you own end-to-end coordination for two or more active initiatives — running the delivery cadence with the dev teams and producing status reporting people actually read.

Within 6 months

You're anticipating blockers rather than reporting them, and releases you coordinate go out with GTM readiness in place on day one.

Within 1 year

You run our most complex, multi-team initiatives with minimal oversight, and the delivery and launch process you've built is what the rest of the team uses by default.

Your legacy

Panopto ships predictably, and every team knows what's coming and what they need to do about it — because you built the system that makes that true. Values in Action Customer First, Always: You proactively surface friction points in the customer experience before they are escalated — and propose solutions, not just reports.

Thrive Together

You share work-in-progress for early feedback, knowing that challenge improves the outcome. You separate critiques of ideas from critiques of people.

Elevate the Craft

You hold the bar high on your own work and invest in developing those around you. You treat every project as an opportunity to learn something new.

Act with Ownership

You define success by outcomes, not activity. You flag problems early and bring a proposed path forward, not just the problem.

Clarity Over Complexity

You default to the simpler solution. Your written communication — internal or external — is direct, specific, and free of filler. How We Thrive You'll join a team where we challenge ideas, not people.

The Product organization exists to ideate, define, and deliver best-in-class products to our customers — assessing market trends, running competitive and customer research, and ruthlessly prioritizing the opportunities with the highest return. We hold ourselves accountable to outcomes, not activity.

The Foundation for Success 6+ years of project or program management experience, with at least 4+ years specifically embedded within a B2B SaaS Product or R&D organization. Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience. Demonstrated experience running delivery with software engineering teams and coordinating the go-to-market side of a product launch.

This role does both. Proven experience driving delivery for complex SaaS architectures (e. g.

, API integrations, multi-tenant cloud platforms, feature flags, continuous deployment release models). Working understanding of the SaaS product lifecycle and agile delivery practices, with the judgment to adapt the process to the situation rather than apply it by the book.

Enough technical fluency to hold a credible conversation with engineers about dependencies, trade-offs, and blockers — you don't need to write code, but you can't be a passenger in the discussion. Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for planning, tracking, and documentation. Strong written and verbal communication, including the ability to push back constructively on scope creep.

Experience working with distributed teams across multiple time zones. Demonstrated track record of designing, implementing, or improving cross-functional delivery and GTM release frameworks, rather than just executing within existing ones.

What Sets You Apart Experience coordinating GTM launch activities with Product Marketing, Sales Enablement, or Customer Success. Experience presenting, reporting delivery health, and managing trade-offs directly with VP and C-level stakeholders. Experience sitting inside a Product or R&D organization rather than a central PMO.

Active PMP, PMI-ACP, or CSM certification. Hands-on experience leveraging modern PM stacks (Jira, Confluence) and AI productivity tools to streamline status reporting, documentation, and risk analysis. Prior experience in a Product Operations (ProdOps) function.

Familiarity with API-based products, feature flagging, or cloud service constraints. Experience in EdTech or with higher education or enterprise customers. Practical use of AI tooling to accelerate planning, synthesis, and reporting work.
