About this role

NVIDIA Networking is seeking an exceptional candidate to work with world-class technologies in the domains of High-Speed Communication and Virtualization for our most advanced markets and customers. Our products encompass Ethernet and InfiniBand protocols, delivering a wide range of cutting-edge networking, virtualization, and security services for cloud, complex compute, and AI workloads.

As a Networking Software Engineer, you will play a crucial role in delivering high quality customer solutions for advanced networking use cases.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Lead and own test strategies for advanced networking use cases end-to-end, collaborating with software developers, network engineers, architects, customer solutions engineers, and product managers to translate customer requirements into comprehensive verification plans.
  • Design and execute functional, integration, regression, and performance test campaigns for software applications, firmware, tools, and networking protocols — driving coverage decisions and sign-off criteria.
  • Architect and maintain test automation frameworks and infrastructure using Python and Bash, raising the quality bar for the team’s CI/CD pipeline and test reliability.
  • Triage, root-cause, and drive resolution of complex software defects across multiple subsystems, working across team boundaries when needed.
  • Lead release quality activities — own release indicators, track risk, and communicate readiness to stakeholders across engineering and product management.
  • Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, providing constructive feedback and establishing best practices to improve code quality and maintainability.
  • Evaluate and improve test processes, methodologies, and tooling — proposing and driving adoption of improvements that increase team efficiency.

What we need to see:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of familiarity with Linux datacenter network engineering along with 1+ years of exposure to and comprehension of standard practices in software development.
  • Familiarity with Linux datacenter network engineering along with exposure to and comprehension of standard practices in software development.
  • Strong proficiency in Python/Bash scripting languages.In-depth knowledge of Linux operating systems, command-line tools and computer networking.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to debug and isolate software defects.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Outstanding attention to details and a dedication to delivering top-quality software solutions.

Ways to stand out from the crowd:

  • Experience with network equipment (switches, network Cards) and understanding of network protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, RDMA).
  • Experience with Linux Virtualization (KVM/QEMU), OVS, and network encapsulation technologies.
  • Familiarity with Continuous Integration/Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipelines and tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD).
  • Background with performance testing and analysis tools (e.g., wireshark, tcpdump, perftest, iperf).
  • Experience with system/network/CPU performance tuning in Linux OS environment.
