At New Story Schools, we serve students ages 5–21 with autism and emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. As a Long-Term Substitute Teacher at New Story Schools, you will support students with social, emotional, behavioral, and learning needs by maintaining instructional continuity and promoting growth in academic, behavioral, and social skills. You’ll work collaboratively with staff and families to provide consistent, individualized support in a structured, student-centered learning environment.
What You’ll Need
- Bachelor’s degree in special education, education, or a related field from an accredited institution
- Valid Pennsylvania Private Academic teaching certification in Special Education or Instructional I/II certification in Special Education
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Commitment to inclusive practices and individualized student support
- Patience, empathy, and a genuine desire to help students succeed
What You’ll Do
- Deliver instruction aligned with IEP goals and lesson plans
- Document progress, assessments, and reports accurately and on time
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and families to support student development
- Maintain classroom structure and implement behavior management strategies
- Monitor student progress and contribute to evaluations and plan updates
