Function & Role Overview
The global brand management function is dedicated to shaping the global perception, connection, and experience of the Netflix brand, ensuring it resonates with diverse audiences worldwide and aligns with the company's strategic objectives.
Netflix's brand management team sits within the Brand Creative Studio (BCS) and is collectively responsible for building and maintaining our brand's equity, globally.
The Manager, Brand Management owns manager-level responsibilities within established workstreams, partnering closely with Sr. brand managers and cross-functional partners within and beyond BCS. This role drives specific brand moments and projects from execution through completion, and serves as the go-to point of contact for select global markets, business units, and/or xfn partners activating and integrating the brand.
While priorities are set by senior leads, this person is trusted to run with defined workstreams end-to-end, making the calls needed to keep them moving and exercising sound judgment along the way.
The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, an enabler of breakthrough creative ideas, and a cross-functional relationship-builder — someone who earns trust without formal authority and is ready to grow into fuller ownership of workstreams over time. Strong understanding of brand management, marketing, and consumer behavior is essential, as is comfort operating in complex, ambiguous organizations.
Success in this role is measured as much by the relationships built and BCS/Netflix fluency gained as by the delivery and impact of scoped initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Stewardship
- Assess Brand Opportunities: Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional teams and business units surfacing potential brand opportunities, gathering context and framing them clearly for Sr. Managers and the Director to prioritize against.
- Be a Partner to Key Regions: Serve as the primary point of contact for a defined set of focus markets (e.g. Germany, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, France) seeking consultation from the broader BCS team on local brand marketing plans and work. In addition to providing BCS with visibility into local activity, you will also connect dots across global markets where relevant.
Development & Go To Market
- Ownership of small to mid level projects across various workstreams while also supporting Sr. Manager and the Director on large scale initiatives.
- Enable End to End Campaign and Creative Development: Support the core BCS functions (strategy, creative, design, ops & program management) by ensuring xfn and business unit context, objectives and considerations are clear and that xfn feedback is adopted where critical while still defending ambitious ideas.
- Drive Cross-Functional Integration: Embed within key xfn teams from Social to comms, title marketing and editorial etc. to identify brand integration and activation opportunities to bring to the team for consideration.
- Support our UCAN-Specific Initiatives: Support the team's UCAN lead on major UCAN brand initiatives, including the Women's World Cup and Kids & Family, helping to strengthen UCAN adoption of our global brand strategy and foundations.
Operational Support & Enablement
- Manage Operations on Key Projects: create and manage shared forums and tools that strengthen xfn and regional connection to the center and thinking and enable the global brand team to scale our efforts.
- Maintain Project Health & Coordination: track status, surface blockers, and connect the right people at the right time to keep brand initiatives moving. Cascade decisions and updates across teams and regions, and flag risks to project health early.
- Provide Thought Leadership & Inspiration: Bring a ground-level point of view back to the team, and use it to sharpen how we prioritize and scale our global brand-building efforts.
Qualifications
- 7-10+ years of experience in brand marketing, agency account management, entertainment marketing or a related field.
- Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams.
- Excellent relationship-building instincts, with the ability to earn trust and credibility across teams without direct authority.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize information clearly for senior stakeholders.
- Ability to operate effectively within a defined scope while building toward greater ownership and independence.
- Experience supporting creative teams or working in matrixed organizations with multiple stakeholders
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable toggling between high-level strategy and executional detail
