We are now seeking a highly experienced HR Director to join our EMEA Talent team in Amsterdam. In this role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to leaders on the Regional Leadership Team, balancing strategic partnership with hands-on HR leadership. This role, which leads a team of three HRBP’s, supports our Talent, FinOps, Legal, Global Affairs & Product functions as well other teams based in Amsterdam.

This role also sits on the EMEA Talent leadership team, partnering with peer leaders to drive a one talent approach across Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Inclusion & Diversity, Compensation & Employee Programs, Talent Tech & Operations, and the Regional HRBP community. The role reports to the VP, Talent EMEA.

Key Responsibilities & Capabilities

  • Netflix culture and inclusion : Uses Netflix's culture and principles to ensure a consistent employee experience and overall organizational health; applies inclusion principles in everyday business partnering. Develop a deep understanding of the Netflix business and culture, serving as a role model and advocate for the company's values. Collaborate with HRBPs and Global Business Practices to deliver a cohesive employee experience across markets.
  • Business acumen: Serve as the functional and local lead for all HR-related topics and partner with senior business leaders, regional Talent teams, and global HQ (US) to translate business goals into HR strategies and people priorities. Build strong, collaborative relationships across EMEA and global talent leadership.
  • Judgment and decision making: Take the lead in managing employee relations matters, including performance management, terminations, and leaves of absence, in partnership with the Employment Legal and Employee Relations teams, to ensure compliance and high-quality case handling.
  • Coaching and influencing: Demonstrate effective written and verbal communication, conveying complex information clearly, concisely, and with influence. Evaluate employee sentiment and provide guidance and coaching to people leaders to improve overall team effectiveness and organizational health.
  • Org design and change management: Apply expertise in organization design and operating model planning. Develop and tailor structures aligned to business, regional, and local needs. Support strategic decisions on work location strategy and organizational scaling.
  • Executing as one Talent team: Navigates the Talent operating model and matrix with a one-Talent-team capability, aligning with other HRBPs, bringing in Talent’s Global Business Practices partners at the right time, and seeking out and sharing context on an ongoing basis. Partner closely with functional HRBPs and GBP teams to plan, prioritize, and execute key talent initiatives across the region. Build and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional teams, key stakeholders in the US, and GBPs, navigating complexity and influencing effectively to drive HR initiatives.

Profile/Experience

  • Experience working in a highly matrixed, fast paced and global organization, and the ability to navigate complex structures is essential. Experience working in different countries.
  • Significant experience of working in an HR Leadership role in matrix organisations. Also experience leading HRBP’s across multiple functions and/or countries.
  • Strong understanding of both business and HR concepts, including problem-solving skills, judgment, critical thinking and analytical capabilities.
  • Proficiency in Inclusion and Diversity and the ability to apply it effectively within the organization.
  • Capability to influence stakeholders and prioritize tasks and initiatives effectively.
  • Proficiency in project management and execution skills to drive HR initiatives.
  • Demonstrable experience in coaching and consulting in a high-performance culture.
  • Possesses intellectual curiosity and brings valuable insights to the team and business.
