TV Programming Intern - Universal Networks

The TV Programming Intern is part of the Programming team reporting to the Program Manager. This will include working on programming a TV channel and all that entails, from the viewing and acquisition of shows to the strategy of their placement on linear and non-linear platforms

Responsible for providing support and administrative assistance across the programming department working on multiple channels.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Scheduling & Planning

• Assist with the maintenance and preparation of program schedules across NBCUniversal channels.
• Support the team with scheduling changes, content updates, and program line-up planning.
• Ensure programming information is accurate and updated across internal systems.
• Coordinate with various stakeholders to support the effective delivery of programming schedules.
• Monthly Oxygen metadata submission
• Monthly Video On Demand Priorities for Bravo NZ
• Create the Monthly Programming Priorities

Audience Analysis & Reporting

• Assist in the preparation of ratings reports and audience analysis.
• Monitor program performance and identify trends in viewer behaviour.
• Support the team in analysing ratings data and competitor schedules.
• Contribute insights that help optimise content scheduling and audience engagement.

Content & Channel

Support

• Assist with content tracking and management of program inventories.
• Support the preparation of programming presentations and updates for internal stakeholders.
• Monitor upcoming content and ensure schedules reflect programming priorities.
• Conduct research into industry trends, audience preferences, and competitor activity.

Team Projects

• Participate in programming meetings and planning discussions.
• Support special projects across the Programming department.
• Collaborate with teams including Marketing, Creative, Research, Commercial, and Operations.
• Contribute ideas that improve processes, reporting, and audience outcomes

Basic Requirements

• Able to work onsite at the Sydney office for two days/week during the internship period
• Passion and Interest in TV Programming and /or working within TV scheduling
• Ability to manage and maintain data and reporting with a high level of accuracy
• Strong attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong organizational and time management skills
• Proactive, can-do- attitude, and detail oriented

Desired Characteristics

• Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite – Outlook and Excel in particular
• An interest in working in media and developing a career within the broadcast industry

This part-time internship requires a 9-month commitment from March 2027 to December 2027.
