This role will assist the Universal Pictures NZ marketing team across all facets of the business but will primarily include Publicity, Social and Creative Services, with some administration support.

We have a big line up of films in 2027 including How to Train Your Dragon 2, The Mummy 2, Shrek 5, A Minecraft Movie Squared, The Lord of the Rings: Hunt for Gollum– each of which requires their own unique strategy and campaign, and your role will be assisting in delivering best in class marketing campaigns across our entire film slate.

General/Team Support:

  • Report into the Publicity, Partnerships & Social Manager
  • Supports the wider team as required
  • Reception duties 1-2 days per week

Admin Duties:

  • Attend weekly WIPs
  • Actively contribute to campaign ideas and brainstorms
  • Attend film screenings as required
  • Assist in pulling together presentations for both internal and head-office stakeholders
  • First drafts of creative copy pointers and social co-op
  • Proof-reading documents
  • Undertake any research needed for a campaign
  • General administrative assistance as required
  • Assist with Publicity PO raising in SAP and budget updates
  • Raise all Creative Services POs in SAP and budget updates

Publicity:

  • Chasing and collating proof of partnership activity, in-market advertising, social coverage, and reviews from critics, media, and influencers
  • Compile post-campaign wrap reports; writing an overview and adding POPs
  • Assist in collation and organization of PR/Influencer send-outs
  • Assist with Preview Screening/Premiere planning and execution including event support as required
  • Assist with Junket preparations for approved outlets on a film-by-film basis
  • Assist with populating our owned channel social calendars
  • Brainstorm bespoke social content for use across owned social channels
  • Perform ongoing Universal NZ Website and Social checks
  • Social Calendar approvals/maintenance and checks with Digital Agency
  • Manage and run monthly giveaways across Meta

Creative Services:

  • Downloading and organising film trailers for viewing sessions, and assisting in creative selection
  • Update film ratings on AV assets in ClearCap and perform minor AV and print edits
  • Release day checks across exhibitor websites and social channels
  • Exhib POPs collection

Basic Requirements:

  • Proficient in MS PowerPoint, Word, Outlook and Excel
  • Adobe Photoshop, CapCut and Canva experience would be advantageous
  • Understanding of all social media platforms
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Well organized with great prioritization skills
  • Ability to take initiative and work independently
  • Excellent communication and a great team player
  • Creative

Desired Characteristics:

  • Passionate about the film & movies
  • Background in creative and/or a marketing-based discipline.

This part-time internship requires a 9-month commitment from March 2027 to December 2027.
