NBCUniversal is hiring a Designer to join a creative and passionate team that is responsible for our customer experience on Peacock.
Our Platform
Design team is seeking a highly collaborative and driven candidate who is adept at swiftly handling change in a constantly evolving environment. Here’s where all those hours watching Parks & Rec and Harry Potter finally pay off -- in this position, you’ll get to leverage that expert knowledge while working with the wider growth & go-to-market team to source and curate engaging imagery for all content available on Peacock.
This position requires experience designing within digital best practices, including familiarity with metadata and its relationship to imagery in a digital world. The ideal candidate will be an organized, excellent communicator, and will be comfortable working with internal and external partners in a high production volume environment.
This team of subject matter experts oversees how content is represented on Peacock; the ideal candidate will be comfortable sharing imagery specs and related guidance with both internal and external partners. From Peacock’s Product team to Platform Ops to Marketing, this unique position will work cross-functionally with multiple teams across Peacock in support of UI optimization and successful high-profile content launches.
Your refined eye, collaborative mindset and knack for time management will ensure consistent, accurate and on-time deliveries for Peacock. The successful candidate will join a talented creative team of writers and designers who are tasked with supporting our crucial content supply chain.
Responsibilities
- Use your keen artistic eye and familiarity with Peacock content to QA and optimize imagery provided by external partners and content aggregators
- Gain experience working within existing creative templates to generate custom artwork
- Seamlessly integrate yourself into existing QA and Design workflows
- Establish relationships with multiple teams across Peacock to guide the onboarding of new platform content
- Work with the wider Editorial team to ideate on and visually support curation of content on Peacock
- Apply your experience in digital design best practices paired with our spec requirements when creating and optimizing any imagery for Peacock
- Regularly review our platform and identify areas of image optimization or improvement
- Creatively and operationally support tent-pole live events, high-profile title and Peacock Original launches
- Support high-production level live events, partnering with the platform ops team directly to source athlete imagery and create packages
- Use findings from content performance to guide custom created artwork and influence future creative testing roadmaps
- Consider yourself a subject matter expert in how content is represented on platform and confidently share guidance, image specifications and best practices with both internal and external partners
- Gain an understanding of the entire end-to-end process of new content acquisitions on Peacock and its impact on imagery and all system touchpoints
- Stay process-minded, continually looking for system optimizations or new industry tools to further refine and streamline our existing processes
- Strive to promote and support DEI not only in your creative featured on Peacock, but within the creative team and its culture as well
- Creatively support and assist in the onboarding of interns and other new hires
Qualifications/Requirements
- 3+ years digital design experience
- Experience working within content management systems (CMS) and Digital Asset Management (DAM) systems
- Ability to handle multiple, time-sensitive requests in an agile environment
- Ability to creatively support an ever-changing content pipeline
- Experience designing for the digital world (entertainment and OTT a plus)
- Experience working with Gracenote or other content aggregators a plus
- Experienced skill level using industry-standard design tools like Photoshop, Illustrator and Figma
- Excellent image masking and retouching skills
- Must be willing to work evenings, weekends, extended hours, or holidays as needed
- Up-to-date knowledge of movies, television and pop culture, and passion for the content streaming space
Additional Requirements
- Hybrid: This position currently has a hybrid schedule, which requires contributing from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in-office requirements at any time.
- This position is eligible for company sponsored benefits, including medical, dental and vision insurance, 401(k), paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and a variety of other discounts and perks.
