Nasdaq Trading Engineering is looking for a Specialist - Quality Engineering to join its established team in Bengaluru (Bangalore). This role offers the opportunity to work on mission-critical financial trading systems in a global engineering environment, collaborating with teams across multiple locations.

The ideal candidate will have 6-8 years of experience in software quality assurance, test automation, API testing, and integration testing, with a strong focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of complex applications. Success in this role requires strong technical and analytical skills, along with the ability to work effectively in a collaborative Agile environment.

Your Role and Responsibilities will include

As a Specialist - Quality Engineering , you will be responsible for validating and ensuring the quality of complex trading applications and services. In addition to collaborating closely with colleagues in Bengaluru, you will work with global Nasdaq teams to deliver high-quality software solutions.

  • Design, execute, and maintain integration and system-level test cases to validate end-to-end trading workflows across multiple interacting components and services.
  • Perform API and integration testing, identifying suitable scenarios for automation and ensuring coverage of critical business flows such as order management, trade lifecycle management, and downstream processing.
  • Apply hands-on test automation skills using one or more programming or scripting languages such as Java, Python, Shell, or similar technologies, actively contributing to automated test suites and frameworks.
  • Analyze test results and leverage quality metrics such as defect trends, test coverage, and failure analysis to assess product quality and focus testing efforts on high-risk and business-critical areas.
  • Create, update, and maintain test documentation, including test cases, test data, execution reports, defect reports, and release sign-off inputs.
  • Work closely with Business Analysts, Technical Account Managers (TAMs), developers, QA engineers, and product teams to understand requirements, integration points, and dependencies, and to plan and execute testing activities.
  • Log, track, and manage defects throughout their lifecycle, clearly articulating impact and priority, and collaborate with development teams to support timely investigation and resolution.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives by enhancing test approaches, increasing automation coverage, and improving test environments and test data strategies.
  • Build effective working relationships with peers, business partners, and stakeholders across technology and business functions.

We Expect You to Have :

  • Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in Software Testing and Quality Assurance.
  • Strong hands-on experience in System Testing, Integration Testing, API Testing, and End-to-End Testing.
  • Hands-on experience working in Linux/Unix environments, including command-line operations, log analysis, process monitoring, and shell scripting.
  • Experience testing applications deployed in cloud-native environments, with working knowledge of AWS services and Kubernetes-based platforms such as Amazon EKS.
  • Understanding of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms such as Kubernetes.
  • Experience in test automation using Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
  • Strong understanding of automation frameworks such as Selenium, Playwright, Cypress, or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, ALM, or similar tools.
  • Good understanding of Agile/Scrum software development methodologies.
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related discipline.

It Would Be Great If You Have :

  • Experience working with financial systems, particularly trading, clearing, settlement, capital markets, or related financial products.
  • Knowledge of test automation framework design and implementation.
  • Experience with CI/CD tools and practices such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps Pipelines, or similar technologies.
  • Familiarity with Linux/Unix environments and scripting.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both technical and business stakeholders.
