About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

As a Senior Full Stack Engineer reporting to Senior Director of Software Engineering, you'll play a critical role in setting technical direction, owning architecture decisions, and enabling a new R&D team to take responsible AI solutions from concept to production in global financial markets.

You'll thrive in this position if you're a hands-on engineer who leads through delivery, mentors with generosity, and brings rigorous thinking to problems that don't always have a defined answer from the start.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead R&D and proof-of-concept deliveries for cloud-native solutions built on Java and React, setting the technical bar and driving architecture decisions end-to-end.
  • Design and own secure integrations using REST and modern agent-to-agent protocols, ensuring services are reliable, observable, and production-ready.
  • Establish and champion software engineering best practices across the team and organization, mentoring DevOps and software engineers at all levels.
  • Drive cross-functional initiatives spanning testing, deployment, observability, operability, and security, contributing to requirement analysis and solution design.
  • Promote the adoption of AI-assisted tooling across products and the software development lifecycle, and take on Agile process roles (e.g., Scrum Master or Product Owner) as needed to support team delivery.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Several years of experience in full-stack software engineering, with deep production-level Java expertise applying OOP and SOLID principles within frameworks such as Spring.
  • Proven experience building modern, component-based web applications; React and TypeScript proficiency is strongly valued.
  • Strong SQL competency including schema design, query performance, transactions, and data integrity.
  • Solid Docker and Kubernetes knowledge, with the ability to guide containerization decisions and troubleshoot services in a cluster environment.
  • Working familiarity with core AWS services relevant to architecture — including EKS, RDS, IAM, networking, and observability — and demonstrated experience setting technical direction and introducing AI-assisted workflows into the software development lifecycle.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to LLM or agent development, including function calling, retrieval-augmented generation, prompt engineering, or agent-tool protocols such as MCP.
  • Experience designing secure APIs and authorization architectures using OAuth2/OIDC, scopes, and token flows, and basic familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tooling (e.g., Terraform or OpenTofu).
  • Background in fintech, capital markets, or a regulated industry environment.

This position will be located in Vilnius, Lithuania, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
