About this role
Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.
As a Senior DevOps Engineer reporting to Senior Director of Software Engineering, you'll play a critical role in shaping and owning the AWS and Kubernetes platform foundation that underpins a new R&D team focused on responsible AI for global financial markets.
You'll thrive in this position if you're a technically rigorous, ownership-driven engineer who sets direction with confidence, mentors others generously, and brings curiosity and pragmatism to problems that don't always have a known answer upfront.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and automate AWS infrastructure using Terraform and GitLab CI/CD pipelines, establishing infrastructure-as-code as the standard across the team.
- Own Kubernetes clusters end-to-end — including Helm charts, networking, RBAC, ingress, security, and upgrades — ensuring reliability and scalability of containerized services.
- Establish and evolve observability, secrets management, high availability, and reliability practices across all environments.
- Mentor DevOps and software engineers, contribute to solution design and requirements analysis, and champion AI-assisted workflows throughout the software development lifecycle.
- Drive the adoption of AI-based tooling across products, services, and CI/CD pipelines, and take on Agile process roles (e.g., Scrum Master or Product Owner) as needed to support team delivery.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Several years of experience in DevOps, cloud infrastructure, or a related discipline, with production-level ownership on AWS or a comparable cloud platform.
- Deep hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tooling such as Terraform, CloudFormation, or OpenTofu.
- Proven Kubernetes ownership including Helm charts, networking, ingress, RBAC, upgrades, and security hardening.
- Strong experience designing and optimizing CI/CD pipelines (preferably GitLab) and applying Git as the single source of truth across the team.
- Demonstrated experience setting technical direction, mentoring engineers, and introducing AI-assisted workflows into the software development lifecycle.
Preferred Qualifications
- Hands-on experience with GitOps tooling such as FluxCD or Argo CD, and multi-cloud exposure (Azure or GCP alongside AWS).
- Experience with Ansible or comparable configuration management tooling, and SQL/database troubleshooting skills.
- Background in fintech, capital markets, or a regulated industry environment.
This position will be located in Vilnius, Lithuania, and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
