As a QA Analyst reporting to the Senior Director, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of the software that powers Nasdaq's equities trading systems — validating that products meet functional, and regulatory standards in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
You'll thrive in this position if you're detail-oriented, collaborative, and eager to build expertise in quality assurance while working alongside experienced engineers who will support your growth.
Key Responsibilities
- • Execute quality control tests and analyses to verify that software meets specified standards, development requirements, and client expectations.
- Create and manage test data files to validate program logic, system flow, and edge-case scenarios.
- Collaborate with development and project teams to plan, complete, and document applicable test phases, including defect identification, tracking, and resolution.
- Administer and maintain quality standards for products and processes, including standard procedures and quality audits.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of QA workflows, leveraging automated testing frameworks and exposure to real-time financial systems.
Required Qualifications
- • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 0–2 years of experience in software quality assurance or testing; internship or academic project experience counts.
- Proficiency or solid understanding of Python, including experience in pytest for writing and executing automated tests.
- Familiarity with operating systems such as macOS or Linux, and foundational concepts including client-server architecture, network protocols, and basic system administration.
- Understanding of cloud environments (e.g., AWS), Version control tools like Git and experience using bug tracking and documentation tools such as JIRA and Confluence.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- • Exposure to test automation frameworks (e.g., pytest) and test reporting tools (e.g., Allure).
- Familiarity with containerized environments such as Docker or Podman, used for spinning up and managing test environments.
- Experience or familiarity with AI-assisted development and testing tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot or similar).
- ISTQB Foundation Level certification or equivalent.
This position will be located in New York City and offers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
