As a Core Java Developer reporting to Sr. Director – Software Engineering, you'll play a key role in developing and implementing software solutions that power Nasdaq's Eqlipse trading platform, supporting clients across APAC and collaborating with global teams.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement software solutions as part of the Trading Engineering organization supporting the Eqlipse trading platform.
- Support existing clients in APAC, ensuring software reliability, performance, and quality standards are met.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues in Sydney and across Nasdaq's global teams to align on objectives and deliverables.
- Maintain and improve code quality, structure, and engineering standard processes.
- Participate in cross-timezone coordination with overseas teams and customers, with occasional flexibility outside of core working hours.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field
- Experience in software engineering using Java, Maven, and Git.
- Knowledge of Linux operating systems and shell scripting.
- Business-level English proficiency — able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, in a professional environment.
- Ability to work in a hybrid environment, with flexibility to collaborate across global time zones as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience building and deploying containerized applications.
- Familiarity with financial exchange protocols such as FIX, ITCH, or OUCH.
- Exposure to global teams and cross-border collaboration in the financial technology space.
This position is located in Sydney, Australia and offers a hybrid work environment with at least 2 days per week in-office, subject to change, providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
Candidates must hold Australian citizenship or permanent residency to be eligible for this role.
