Overview Our Commercial Web Marketing team is transforming Microsoft. com into an AI-powered decision platform and growth engine that helps commercial customers understand solutions and take action. This role will bring that vision to life by setting UX direction, designing connected customer journeys, advancing scalable design-system patterns, and using research and performance data to improve the experience.

We are seeking a collaborative, strategic Senior UX Designer to shape customer journeys across Microsoft. com. You will translate complex product, audience, and business requirements into intuitive, cohesive web experiences across our Microsoft AI products.

Working at enterprise scale, you will lead information architecture, interaction design, prototyping, and validation across multi-page programs. You will design within the Microsoft Design System, extend existing patterns where appropriate, and partner with the design system team when new patterns are needed.

You will collaborate with product marketing, web production, analytics, engineering, content, and design partners to connect customer needs with business goals. Success requires strong systems thinking, clear communication, sound design judgment, and the ability to manage competing priorities.

Responsibilities

  • Set and communicate a clear UX vision across web customer journeys. Lead information architecture, navigation, wayfinding, and content hierarchy for assigned experiences.
  • Translate complex products, licensing, audiences, and business requirements into clear customer experiences.
  • Design and validate end-to-end journeys from awareness through enrollment or purchase.
  • Apply, extend, and contribute reusable patterns within the Design System; document guidance for adoption. Partner with design, content, analytics, engineering, web production, and agencies to align priorities and delivery.
  • Use research and post-launch data to evaluate comprehension, wayfinding, and performance, then iterate. Raise the quality bar through strong visual, interaction, and systems design and constructive critique.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design OR Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 6+ years experience working in product or service design, OR Bachelor's Degree in one of those fields AND 8+ years, OR equivalent experience.Portfolio demonstrating design process, problem-solving, craft, and outcomes.Demonstrated expertise in information architecture, interaction design, customer journeys, and prototyping in Figma.Experience designing for complex information environments — product catalogs, taxonomies, or content ecosystems.
  • Fluency with design systems, including components, patterns, tokens, documentation, and governance.
  • Experience contributing new or extended patterns to a design system maintained by another team.
  • Experience designing enterprise, e-commerce, security, or technical-product web experiences.
  • Experience using research, analytics, or post-launch performance data to improve digital experiences.
  • Written, verbal, presentation, and design-rationale skills, including building well-reasoned proposals when existing patterns don't meet a user need.
  • Experience working across disciplines and managing competing priorities in a fast-moving environment; consulting or agency experience a plus.

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U. S. is USD $119,800 - $234,700 per year.

There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $160,200 - $261,000 per year.
