About this role

Overview Microsoft Security’s Economics & Analytics team improves how the division makes decisions. We build the shared metrics, rigorous analysis, and repeatable processes leaders need to allocate resources effectively and drive better business, customer, and security outcomes. Our work spans measurement, insights, operational efficiency, and decision science, turning complex data into clear and actionable decisions.

The Principal PM

Lead manages full-stack PMs responsible for business, operational, people, AI, and product metrics, including executive and insights dashboards.

This leader sets strategy and a prioritized roadmap for the centralized function, partnering across Microsoft Security to define trusted measures, strengthen data foundations, clarify ownership, consolidate platforms and processes, and use AI and automation to deliver scalable, decision-ready insights.

Microsoft’s mission is to empower every person and every organization on the planet to achieve more. As employees we come together with a growth mindset, innovate to empower others, and collaborate to realize our shared goals. Each day we build on our values of respect, integrity, and accountability to create a culture of inclusion where everyone can thrive at work and beyond.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of full-stack PMs responsible for Microsoft Security’s core business, operational, people, AI, and product metrics.
  • Set the vision, strategy, roadmap, and priorities for the centralized metrics function, focusing investment on the measures, data foundations, and insights with the greatest decision value.
  • Establish an end-to-end operating model for metrics—from decision needs and accountable ownership through data onboarding, quality, governance, adoption, and continuous improvement.
  • Partner across Finance, engineering, data, product, operations, and HR to standardize definitions and consolidate fragmented data sources, platforms, dashboards, and reporting processes.
  • Own the direction and operating model for executive scorecards and insights and visualization experiences, ensuring they are trusted, coherent, and fit for their audiences.
  • Apply AI and automation across the metrics lifecycle, measure the function’s impact, and communicate complex metric issues and tradeoffs clearly to senior leaders
