Overview
Global Skilling advances Microsoft’s learning strategy across customers, partners, employees, and future generations, helping individuals and organizations build the skills needed to adopt Microsoft technologies and navigate digital transformation. Through global skilling programs and learning experiences, the organization supports Microsoft’s business priorities and growth across Cloud and AI.
The Commercial Skilling Director - Global Skilling is responsible for translating Microsoft’s global learning strategy into relevant and actionable plans for the Americas market. In this role, you will drive the activation of learning initiatives across customer, partner, and employee audiences, adapting programs to address area-specific needs while maintaining alignment with global strategy.
You will serve as a key connection between Global Skilling and area leadership, partnering across Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to integrate learning into business motions and help accelerate adoption of Microsoft technologies, including AI and Copilot.
You will also use engagement, consumption, and business impact insights to evaluate program effectiveness and inform future strategy. By enabling field teams to incorporate learning into customer engagements and championing a culture of continuous learning, you will contribute to skilling adoption and alignment with Microsoft’s Cloud and AI priorities.

Responsibilities
Strategy & Execution
- Translate the Global Skilling (GS) strategy into actionable plans for the area.
- Drive execution of learning programs across customer, partner, and employee audiences.
Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary liaison between Global Skilling and area leadership teams.
- Partner with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success to integrate learning into business motions.
Program Activation
- Localize and activate global skilling initiatives to address area-specific needs.
- Deliver learning experiences that are inclusive, accessible, and culturally relevant.
Impact Measurement
- Track and report learning engagement, consumption, and business impact metrics.
- Apply insights to improve program effectiveness and inform future strategy.
Advocacy & Enablement
- Champion a culture of learning within the area.
- Enable field teams to position learning as a driver of customer success and revenue growth.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Business Administration, Organizational Design, Finance or related field AND 10+ years experience in or leading sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
- OR Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Sales, Accounting, Information Systems, Social Sciences AND 10+ years experience in or leading sales operations, project management, analytics, compensation, sales performance analytics, finance/business analyst, process improvement, business development, consulting, finance, marketing, or a related field
- OR equivalent experience.
- 3+ years people management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in learning, enablement, business management, or related roles.
- Experience influencing stakeholders and driving initiatives across functions.
- Business acumen and understanding of Microsoft solution areas.
- Communication, collaboration, and change management skills.
- Experience using data and metrics to measure program impact and inform decisions.
- Experience working in a global or regional capacity.
- Familiarity with Microsoft learning platforms and skilling programs.
Sales Operations M6 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U. S. is USD $130,900 - $277,200 per year.
There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $165,600 - $303,600 per year.
