More than 3 billion people in over 180 countries use WhatsApp to stay in touch with friends and family, anytime and anywhere. In India, it is also where a great deal of everyday life gets done - people message businesses, coordinate their families, and increasingly send money as easily as they send a message.

We are building a new team to take WhatsApp further in that direction. The newly established WhatsApp Services team is focused on making WhatsApp more useful for more of what people already use it for, and on building what comes next. Payments on WhatsApp aren't a bet on paper: live in India since 2020 and growing; the existing WhatsApp payments team moves across as the pillar's foundation.

WhatsApp Product Managers work with cross-functional teams of engineers, designers, data scientists, researchers and other partners to build products. We are looking for entrepreneurial Product Managers who combine long-term strategic thinking with urgency, product craft and effective execution.

Product Manager, WhatsApp - India Responsibilities

• Lead a complex product area by defining its vision, strategy, and measures of success, while considering the wider WhatsApp and company context.
• Identify and prioritize the most significant user and product opportunities, adapting the strategy as new evidence and context emerge.
• Translate strategy into a coherent roadmap across multiple workstreams, driving progress against goals and resolving dependencies and blockers.
• Build alignment across adjacent product teams and partner functions, resolving divergent goals and creating shared strategies where needed.
• Use qualitative research, quantitative analysis, and market insight to inform product decisions and influence the broader product organization.
• Communicate the product strategy, trade-offs, and progress with clarity to cross-functional teams and senior stakeholders.
• Raise the effectiveness of the team and support the growth of other PMs and cross-functional partners through mentorship and coaching.

Minimum Qualifications

• 8+ years of relevant industry experience, including at least 3 years in Product Management
• Experience leading consumer product strategy and execution at significant scale
• Experience leading cross-functional teams across the full product lifecycle, from defining product vision and requirements through launch, measurement, and iteration
• Experience using user research, experimentation, and large-scale data to identify opportunities, make trade-offs, and drive measurable product outcomes
• Experience integrating diverse user needs, product requirements, and competitive context into a coherent strategy
• Experience influencing across organizational boundaries and aligning senior cross-functional stakeholders without direct authority
• Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication, including bringing clarity to complex product decisions
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building products for diverse international audiences and markets
• Experience defining and validating zero-to-one consumer product opportunities
• Experience in designing audience, privacy or identity controls that help people share confidently
• Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
• Demonstrated ability to use AI tools to accelerate product discovery, prototyping, analysis, or team workflows while applying responsible AI practices
• Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
• Experience building consumer products
• Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
• Experience in a consumer-focused technology company, with in-market experience in India
• Experience working with payment infrastructure in emerging markets
• Experience building and scaling early-stage growth efforts
