Meta is seeking a full-time Global Lease Accounting Manager to join the Global Lease Team within the Corporate and Infrastructure Controllership Group.
The Global Lease Team sits at the center of Data Center Strategy and Leased Sites, supporting the full lifecycle of Meta's Data Center, Fiber, and Facilities leases, from site selection and deal structuring through commencement, ongoing accounting, modification, and end of term. These leases underpin the infrastructure Meta's products run on.
In this role, you will own the accounting transactions and processes that support daily operations, ensure compliance with U. S. GAAP and internal policies, and play a critical part in Meta's month-end close.
You will also shape how lease accounting scales with the business: defining the direction for process and systems change in areas where the problem statement and strategy are not yet settled, and partnering with business, finance, and technical stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and flexible solutions in a fast-moving global environment.
As the company-level subject matter expert for lease accounting, you will represent the Global Lease Team in cross-functional forums and stand behind judgments that affect reported results.
Responsibilities
- Own and manage the lifecycle of high-impact, complex, cross-functional programs where the business problem and program strategy may not be well defined
- Identify and drive implementation of process and technology improvements that can be scaled globally across the lease accounting organization
- Serve as the subject matter expert for lease accounting and represent the function to teams across the company, communicating clearly with technical and non-technical audiences, scoping business requirements, and prioritizing across competing initiatives
- Perform technical accounting assessments and document conclusions for complex transactions
- Ensure an accurate and timely US GAAP month-end close by performing and reviewing accounting transactions, including journal entries, account reconciliations, and variance analysis, and by providing support and management to the close process
- Implement and operationalize scalable systems and financial processes in accordance with US GAAP to create efficiencies in month-end and quarter-end close, including journal automation, account reconciliations, and ongoing analytical review
- Contribute to the quarterly SEC reporting cycle
- Ensure compliance with key controls and audit requirements, and provide accounting support to our statutory compliance teams
