Meta is seeking an experienced Director to join the corporate legal team as Board Liaison, serving as a key connection between Meta's Board of Directors and the company's senior leadership team.
Meta's Board oversees a business of significant scale and complexity, and you will be at the center of the operating rhythm of the Board: the materials that inform its decisions, the meetings where those decisions are made, and the records that document them. You will work directly with C-suite executives and public company directors, and you will handle the role with a high degree of skill and discretion.
Reporting to the Vice President, Associate General Counsel and Assistant Corporate Secretary, you will operate independently in a fast-paced environment and partner closely with cross-functional teams across Legal, Finance, Executive Operations, Investor Relations, and Communications.
This role calls for exceptional attention to detail and organizational judgment, alongside the ability to think strategically and drive execution with senior executives. It is based in Menlo Park and requires regular in-person presence around Board and committee meetings.
Director, Board Liaison Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end production of Board and committee materials, partnering with the corporate legal team and content owners across the company to scope, coordinate, edit, and distribute decks and pre-reads against a fixed calendar.
- Serve as a critical point of contact between the Board and internal teams, ensuring directors receive timely, accurate, and well-framed information.
- Draft governance documents including meeting minutes, resolutions, consents, and charters, and shepherd them through review to execution.
- Assist in designing and running the programming for Board meetings, committee sessions, and Board events, including agendas, logistics, presenter preparation, and follow-through on action items.
- Partner with the Corporate Secretary team to shape and drive strategic initiatives for the Board, including new director onboarding, refreshing governance practices, and supporting the annual meeting cycle.
- Strengthen and scale the internal processes behind Board operations, replacing manual coordination with durable systems as the Board's cadence and information needs evolve.
- Lead cross-functional special projects on compressed timelines, often with limited precedent and high executive visibility.
- Together with responsible attorneys maintain the company's corporate records and governance documentation as the authoritative source of truth.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent practical experience
- 10+ years of experience in corporate governance, board operations, executive operations, program management, or strategy and operations
- Experience supporting or interacting directly with C-suite executives and board members in a high-stakes, deadline-driven environment
- Experience owning a recurring, non-negotiable delivery cycle end to end, coordinating inputs from stakeholders outside your reporting line
- Experience drafting and editing executive-level written materials, with demonstrated precision and attention to detail
- Experience handling confidential and market-sensitive information with discretion
- Experience building or improving cross-functional processes
- Organizational problem-solving, strategic development, execution, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- 8+ years of the above experience within a public company, in a corporate secretary's office, board operations function, or equivalent
- Experience supporting board committees such as Audit, Compensation, or Nominating & Governance
- Experience with the public company annual meeting and proxy statement cycle
- Experience with board portal platforms and governance recordkeeping systems
- Experience in a highly regulated industry, or at global scale across multiple jurisdictions
- Chartered Governance Professional, GPC.D, or comparable governance credential
- Advanced degree
