About this role

Employer-provided description, formatted for easier reading.

Meta is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead the delivery of large-scale data center construction projects that power Meta's global infrastructure. In this role, you will provide senior-level oversight across all phases of data center construction — from site preparation and structural work through mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems installation and commissioning.

You will serve as the primary owner of construction execution strategy, driving schedule, cost, quality, and safety outcomes across complex, multi-hundred-million-dollar builds. This role requires deep expertise in mission-critical facility construction and the ability to shape organizational standards, influence long-term program delivery approaches, and lead large, matrixed project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Own end-to-end construction execution for hyperscale data center projects, including civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes from groundbreaking through turnover
  • Define and enforce construction management standards, processes, and quality control frameworks across the data center project portfolio
  • Lead and coordinate general contractors, specialty subcontractors, commissioning agents, and third-party inspectors to ensure alignment with project schedules and technical specifications
  • Drive resolution of complex field conditions, design conflicts, and scope changes through structured RFI, submittal, and change order management processes
  • Establish and maintain master construction schedules using critical path methodology, identifying risks and mitigation strategies to protect key milestones
  • Oversee construction cost management including budget tracking, forecast updates, change order negotiation, and earned value reporting
  • Champion site safety programs and enforce compliance with OSHA regulations, Meta safety standards, and contractor safety plans across all active construction zones
  • Partner with design, engineering, and commissioning teams to ensure constructability, systems integration, and readiness for mechanical and electrical commissioning
  • Provide organizational leadership by mentoring other construction managers and project engineers, and contributing to the development of scalable delivery frameworks for the broader data center development program
  • Engage with local authorities, utilities, and permitting agencies to manage inspections, certificates of occupancy, and regulatory compliance throughout construction

Qualifications

  • 12+ years of experience managing construction of large-scale, mission-critical facilities such as data centers, semiconductor fabs, or industrial process facilities
  • Experience leading construction delivery of projects exceeding $200M in total construction value, including direct oversight of general contractors and major subcontractors
  • Experience managing complex MEP systems construction and commissioning in mission-critical or high-availability facility environments
  • Experience developing and managing construction schedules using critical path method tools and driving recovery plans when milestones are at risk
  • Experience defining construction management standards, quality programs, or delivery frameworks adopted across a multi-project portfolio Experience delivering hyperscale or colocation data center construction projects at the campus or multi-building program level
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Familiarity with data center electrical infrastructure including medium-voltage switchgear, UPS systems, generators, and high-density power distribution
  • Experience with integrated project delivery models, design-build contracting, or construction management at-risk procurement structures
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Professional credentials such as CCM, PMP, or PE licensure in a relevant engineering discipline
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate AI tools to optimize/redesign workflows and drive measurable impact (e.g., efficiency gains, quality improvements)
  • Experience adhering to and implementing responsible, ethical AI practices (e.g., risk assessment, bias mitigation, quality and accuracy reviews)
  • Demonstrated ongoing AI skill development (e.g., prompt/context engineering, agent orchestration) and staying current with emerging AI technologies
