Title and Summary

Director, Business Development

The Director, Business Development, Acceptance will lead the development and execution of strategic partnerships across the acquiring and payments ecosystem, including Payment Service Providers (PSPs), acquirers, payment facilitators, and local payment partners.

The role requires a commercially driven leader who can drive large-scale acceptance expansion, strengthen ecosystem engagement, and deliver sustainable growth in transaction volumes and market share.

Role

• Develop and execute Mastercard's acceptance growth strategy across Thailand
• Drive merchant acceptance expansion across priority sectors, underserved regions, and tourist-heavy locations
• Build and manage strategic relationships with PSPs, acquirers, payment facilitators, and ecosystem partners
• Identify and execute opportunities to accelerate card acceptance and usage across consumer and commercial segments
• Develop business cases and commercial propositions that support acceptance growth and ecosystem expansion
• Partner with Product, Acceptance, Services, Marketing, and Account Management teams to deliver integrated market solutions
• Lead initiatives that increase merchant activation, transaction volumes, and acceptance performance
• Monitor market trends, competitive developments, and regulatory changes to identify growth opportunities
• Manage a robust pipeline of acceptance initiatives and partnerships, ensuring delivery against business objectives
• Represent Mastercard with senior stakeholders across the payments ecosystem and merchant community

All About You

• Strong commercial mindset with a track record in business development, sales, acquiring, merchant acceptance, or strategic partnerships
• Experience working with acquirers, PSPs, merchants, fintechs, or the broader payments ecosystem
• Strong understanding of merchant acquiring, payment acceptance, digital payments, and commerce trends
• Proven ability to build and scale strategic partnerships that drive business growth
• Strong analytical and financial acumen with experience developing business cases and commercial models
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills
• Comfortable working across multiple functions and navigating complex organizations
• Results-driven with a strong execution focus and ownership mindset
• Experience in payments, financial services, fintech, commerce, or technology sectors preferred
