About Mariana Minerals
Mariana Minerals is a software-first, vertically integrated minerals company on a mission to supply the critical minerals powering modern energy, AI, and defense technologies. We’re reimagining the minerals supply chain by combining deep industry expertise with advanced software, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
The Role
We're hiring a Staff Product Manager to own the Engineering and Super domains of CapitalProjectOS (CPOS), the operating system for how Mariana designs, plans, and builds capital projects.
CPOS is organized around four components ( MarianaEngineer (design), MarianaGSM (procurement), MarianaSuper (construction), and MarianaPM (planning and monitoring)) and this role owns two of them end-to-end: MarianaEngineer, the centralized system for design basis, process and engineering data, and 3D models; and MarianaSuper, the real-time command center for construction execution and plan-versus-actual tracking in the field.
You will be the single accountable owner for product strategy, roadmap, and execution across engineering and construction, working alongside PMs who own procurement (GSM) and planning/knowledge (PM) within the same CPOS team.
The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in capital project engineering or construction/field execution and is energized by the challenge of embedding AI into workflows that engineers and superintendents depend on every day.
What You'll Do
- Own the product vision, roadmap, and prioritization for MarianaEngineer and MarianaSuper, including agentic tooling such as engineering automation, reality capture, and plan-versus-actual intelligence.
- Serve as the primary domain expert translating capital project engineering and construction workflows into software requirements. You will act as the the bridge between project engineers, superintendents, project controls, software engineering, and executive stakeholders.
- Embed directly with engineering and field teams to understand how design and construction work actually happens, anticipate edge cases, and distinguish true product requirements from one-off user preferences or process gaps.
- Write clear requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, and business rules; build and test prototypes to hone in on valuable products as quickly as possible.
- Build a structured user engagement model (discovery sessions, workflow reviews, sprint reviews, UAT, and adoption check-ins) that makes users accountable for feedback, testing, and adoption.
- Develop rollout plans, training materials, adoption metrics, and feedback loops; track adoption barriers and work with engineering and construction leaders to resolve them.
- Define and track success metrics: modeling and design turnaround time, C4 and reality-capture adoption, plan-versus-actual accuracy, cycle time, and downstream project outcomes (schedule, cost, safety).
- Participate in sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives; maintain a well-prioritized backlog.
- Create visibility into what is being built, why it matters, and how it is performing.
- Help build the PM function at an AI company. This is a small, early team where you'll help establish how we work and develop PMs behind you at a company at the cutting edge of developing and adopting AI.
Desired Qualifications
Must Have
- 5+ years of experience in capital project engineering (process, mechanical, or EPC design) and/or construction or field execution (superintendent, construction management, project controls).
- Strong understanding of the capital project lifecycle including design basis, engineering deliverables, procurement handoff, construction execution, and commissioning.
- Ability to go deep on engineering and construction workflows and earn credibility with domain experts by understanding how the work actually happens.
- Strong product judgment: ruthless prioritization, focus on highest-leverage work, resistance to building everything at once.
- Ability to translate complex operational workflows into clear requirements, priorities, and product decisions, and to lead cross-functional teams through ambiguous, complex projects with competing stakeholder priorities.
- Genuine interest in AI-powered tooling. You know how to translate model capabilities into products that engineers and superintendents will trust and adopt, and you enjoy staying current on the cutting edge of AI advancements.
- Strong communication skills across a wide range of organizational contexts, from field superintendents and engineers to executives.
Nice to Have
- Direct experience with engineering software (P&ID, 3D/plant design, datasheet or equipment-sizing tools) or construction management software (scheduling, QA/QC, reality capture, command-center platforms).
- Experience shipping AI-powered enterprise tools: agentic engineering workflows, document intelligence, or process co-pilots.
- Track record of digital transformation in capital-intensive industries — mining, energy, construction, or manufacturing.
- Prior product management experience, or genuine excitement to move into product management from an engineering or construction background.
- AI-forward projects outside of work.
Why This Role
At Mariana, you don't need to validate product-market fit because we are the market. If you identify a real problem and build a real solution, adoption is a conversation, not a sales cycle.
MarianaEngineer and MarianaSuper are the platforms that determine whether Mariana's designs move from design basis to 3D model without drifting out of sync, and whether the field catches a schedule or quality problem in real time instead of in a monthly report. The engineering tools you build set the authoritative source of truth for every project.
The command center you build is what a superintendent looks at every morning to run the site.
If you want to own something end-to-end, build software with immediate operational impact, and help shape what a modern industrial company looks like from the inside out — we'd love to talk.
