Associate Director, Quantum & Forensic Analysis

Responsibilities

• The candidate will primarily be involved in construction dispute resolution, claims preparation and analysis, forensic accounting, cost analysis, and providing project controls and contract administration support on live projects.
• The Candidate will primarily be the lead assistant to the quantum expert(s). This individual will perform damages analysis, including loss of productivity analysis, prolongation costs analysis (i.e. delay costs), scope change assessments, and contract assessments. The candidate will contribute to the expert report preparation.
• An individual is required who can show initiative, perform advanced data research, manage client relations and deliver on tight deadlines. This role will involve frequent client interaction and will require the successful candidate to prepare and make presentations to communicate results.
• It is preferred that the individual has previous experience in providing consultancy services on substantial and/or complex disputes, or experience in the management and/or control of construction projects.  They should be able to demonstrate experience in writing reports to a high level and have strong industry experience in large construction and engineering projects.
• We anticipate that the successful candidate will have a good academic record and be able to demonstrate how they have distinguished themselves within their chosen field.  They will be expected to work collaboratively with the team and deliver assignments to the client’s satisfaction.
• Assisting in promoting the construction advisory services in the industry.

Required Qualifications

• More than 8-10+ years of experience in accounting or project management experience in the construction and engineering industry. A focus on construction claims, cost control, and change order management is preferred.
• A recognized undergraduate degree in construction management, engineering quantity surveying, or similar from a leading university.
• Excellent oral and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work in multidisciplinary teams.
• Professionalism and client-facing ability, able to build trust.
• A strong technical foundation in project planning and control.
• Relationship building and strong interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, PowerPoint as well as construction programming software (i.e., Primavera P6 and Microsoft Project).
• A flexible approach to their work.
• An understanding of the demands of project-based work, able to work under pressure and an ability to meet deadlines.
• A sense of personal responsibility for the quality of their work.
• Fluent in English. Command of a second language is desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

• A individual with a professional license and/or professional certifications (e.g. professional engineer or engineer in training, cost professional, project management professional or equivalent), or someone in the process of obtaining a license or certification is preferred.

Physical & Mental Qualifications

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
• Must be able to travel for various assignments.
